TOPIC: Storage of DF

Storage of DF 2 Years, 11 Months ago
Just thought I would share my storage solution for all my DF pieces.
I normally have all my DF boxes in the garage and have to get them all out as and when I need them which is a bit of a pain.
So I have purchased a few 20 litre 'Really Useful' boxes.

I now have got 27 sets to fit into 8 of these boxes and can access them very easily, and can even slap them in the car when I use them at other peoples homes. So far they are working very well.

I also have a smaller 9 litre box with all the doors and other smaller more fragile pieces in

I have to say Pusherman, that that looks like a better solution than those Sterlite 7 drawer carts I have been using. How much per box? Does the 9 litre come with those little dividing trays?

Thats a great set of drawers you have there Crioux, it would be perfect but i needed something that i can put in the car easily as well.

The boxes are about £11 each for the 20 litre boxes and for the smaller 9 litre one £6.
The trays that go in the 9 litre box are available seperatly for £3.20 for the large one that has the doors in and £2.30 for the smaller ones that have the other bits in.

You can get them in the US too at Really Useful Boxes

Thanks a ton for posting those pics. I have been contemplating Really Useful Boxes for my DF storage as well. I was also thinking of picking up one of these www.displaywarehouse.com/productinfo.asp?item=7786&deptcode1=573 and displaying my DF like that. Unfortunately I don't have the space right now.

I would love to have all my stuff out on display in a dedicated geek room, but we don't have the space spare either... maybe when the kids have grown up and left home.

That is really nice. I wish I could find something like that, as I could make space for it in my closet.

What did you do with your empty boxes? Did you throw them out?

Oo no I'd never do that, they are still stored in my garage. Just with these boxes I have much easier access to my sets.

Thanks a lot for posting this, Pusherman. I am ordering a bunch of useful boxes for storage of my DF sets. They seem like a great solution to dealing with the space problem of a large DF collection.

Lol, indeed! Pusherman, what is the exact product name of the trays that are in the 9 liter box you show in the pic? I can't seem to find the trays for the 9 liter box.

Perhaps you could send me a link to the actual tray product page?

Thanks!
