Well I got my ruins set today and I decided to put it to use straight away. So I have been asked to run a Dungon Crawl with my DF at our local min con. But im looking for some input. How do ya think it turned out ?

The Entry

from the inside

And the ruined temple

Thank you for having a look.

Nice set up . My favorite part is the second water chamber. To me it appears that the chamber collapsed in around the stairs and then filled with water. Making the adventures cross through or over water to get to stairs. great idea . and a great spot to have a classic, memorable encounter.

Excellent set up. I like the way you have integrated the Ogres Den.

Where did you get the cage from? (and more importantly what is going to be in it?)

Nice! I am envious of your blowpipe lizardmen and the MageKnight traps pieces ( Dave, that is where the cage comes from).
What is the story with the mirror?
I also really like your use of the dragon bookend. It is a nice color match. Also, the fact that they must cross water to reach the stairs leading to that room is an excellent idea. Perhaps a green dragon awaits below the surface?

Excellent- very original! It really shows how well different DF sets can work well together!

Pictures 9 and 10, very creative use of the ruins pieces to show the crumbling staircase.

I might just "borrow" that idea in my next set up.

Thank you all For the input I have Made a few "improvments this morning and Ill show ya a neat trick I tryed out that worked well. Thanks Arcarius for spotting the Mage Knight stuff its I love it as well. Your comment about the Lizard men inspired me to populate the rest of the Set up with Lizzard folk.
So I was gald you spied the mirror and asked. SO I decided to lay it out for you.

As the party enters they will see a contraption on the left that funky black thing. It turns out that if a high enough Arcna or Disable Device check is rolled they will learn that by putting a Torch or other light sorce in the chamber it will send reflect a beam off the mirror across the room on the right of the pic. ( ie iniana jones )
Also was I able to pull off the waterfall ? I used a D&D min water elemetal for it i think it works ? opinions ?
SO the other miror strikes this one

wich shines the beam onto this wall..

Unlocking the Secret door alowing the party not to have to take the wickedly traped path

lastly I liked your complements on the oger den and decided to enhance it some, so I took some Taky putty you can get in hobby stores for sticking posters up on walls without nails and applyed it to the bottem of some of the eddge peices. this was the result

Ty again for all the kind comments and I hope you enjoy these new shots !

Good use of the water elemental, I may steal that idea. Where did you get the mirrors and gizmo? That is another great idea, having them use skills to uncover the secret passage. I really like non combat encounters like that. I bet this is a game many players will remember, especially in a game con. Very cool of you to cart around your DF like that. One last question...
How well does the tacky putty come off the felt bottom of the DF pieces?

Ty I was setting up the lizard men and I happend to look across my table at the water Elly on my shelf and about an hour earlier I had been reading on the fourms about the Idea of a water wall that could double as a water fall.. and Insperation hit. The Laser and mirror come from a board game that you probably can find for about 10 bucks called Laser Battle. It comes with Two laser towers about 20 mirrors 10 black 10 grey and a 2 tower that when the beam hits them it makes an explosion sound.. I had thought about trying to work that in there somehow burried over DF with a crubled wall exposing the sensor but I perfer this idea in the end.
As to the Putty if you look close you will see a Tiny bit of blue showing that where I attached the putty to the peice.. Thats about all I used. And it comes off very well leaving no residue or Tacky stickyness behind.
The one thing In the making of this I REALY wish that I could find is a 2x2 To match the water tiles ! had I found something to match up color wise I would have ran the lake in front through the set up and conected it to the lake in the back.

On the subject of a 2x2 water tile, can you cut Dwarven Forge with a dremel tool? I presume that even if you can cut Dwarven Forge, the water tiles can not be cut because of the 'water' resin being brittle.

Oops.

And your pictures are neat. I like the laying effects and how you mix all sorts of different sets together. Although I never would have thought of it, it just makes senses that the ruins would be on top of other structures. The tall towers always fall FIRST!

Cool, very creative way to set up the multiple levels. The areas filled with water are especially cool. Great idea on the collapsed stairway.
