Here are a few DF maps (made from the items in my sig), for a module/adventure I will be DM'ing later today. At this time I have no idea who/what will live in each map, but this is mainly to show what can be done with very little DF scenery. Nothing as good as L's or Tom's, but it is a start.

(More pics to follow).

Hey, don't knock it -- these are great pics! I love those overhead "blueprint" type pics. When I first started using DF, I would map out my projects on graph paper. I was careless, though, and didn't note exactly what I used, so sometimes it was a little telling which way walls should face and so on.

Then I caught on to those overhead shots -- you get a perfect map for future use, a great blueprint of the display. Plus, they look COOL. It's like a full-color, photorealistic map!

One thing I recomend for these types of display -- it's really fun and surprisingly involving. Once everything is in place, take just one or two corner pieces or wall pieces, and move them around. Turn them around or switch them with another. In just one or two steps, you COMPLETELY redesign the place. It's incredible how addictive it can be to just mess with a display and constantly re-invent it. (one specific example: for every L-shaped corridor piece, replace it with a 3x3 room with a doorway on the S wall and one on either the W or E wall, depending -- completely changes the look of a dungeon -- or vice versa, replace a 3x3 room with a corridor)

Law,

Course You, like myself, are not So Fond of Passages...<Smirk>... I Agree that The Over head Pics would make a Nice Referrence piece... Good Idea for "Recording a Games Progress too I Should Think... Especially for those of us that do not have the Space to Leave a Game Set up for Weeks (Or Months), at a Time...

DarkFather,

Hey I Forgot to Mention... That I Noticed your Hero Quest Furnishings... I Use those Too...<Grin>...[/code]

If only we had some construction kit to be able to print out our maps.. and then at the end of the day mark on teh maps where we left off and where stuff was.. then we could take everything down and use the map as a reference when we set it all back up.....

Only if.... hummmmmm

Moe,

You Know, it is kinda Sad that it has disappeared... But there used to be a Very easy to Use Map Making Product out there that was Made by a Guy that Called himself HulkSkulker... You Could Easily make up "Tiles" and "Tile Sets" and it would have been pretty easy to make DF Stuff... I Like the Graphics on the Beta of the DF Map Maker, and I see plenty of Potential there, Just hope there is a Snap to Grid Function, an Inventory System would be Really Kewl, (If too much to ask for...<Chuckle>...), and at the Very Least Regular Updates as new Products come out... Ideally I Would Love to See a well made DF Map Program on Disk, that Could be Purchased and Then Set up on your Computer... Then as New Sets Came out DF could Post New Tile Sets for D/L...!
