Kobold tents and dwellings painted courtesy Yansolo! Also, stone circle painted courtesy Yansolo!

- Last picture is actually of a city that I am putting together. Check out the DF streets!

Since I work for GW I probably could name most of those things, but that wouldn't be fair. I like the castle you built from several of our plastic building kits. REALLY nice.

As for all the Forgeworld stuff, it's painted really nice, too. How many times do you use it though? Do you play a lot of Apocalypse?

Very nice. I really like the castle and city. Are all the buildings interactive so you can access the interiors?

The Reaver stepping on the Rhino is really cool. If all the Forgeworld stuff is yours, you sir are truly blessed. Very nice.

M4jumbo, Yes they are. However, the space inside MBA buildings is a little tight and does not have a grid for D&D playing.

Endar, thanks!

Dwarf, my favorite type of game is an Apocalypse game. I read a lot of WH40K novels in my spare time and feel that books like Titanicus by Dan Abnett and Storm of Iron by Graham McNeil really capture my imagination. Truly my favorite models/units in the Wh40k universe are the majestic God-machines – i.e., the titans.
Since I can only field titans in Apocalypse games, I find that I only want to play those types of games. As you know, however, Apocalypse games take a lot of time to setup and play and, therefore, I end up playing only a few times (2-3 times) a year. My current plans are to setup a three-way massive battle between Eldar, Imperial Titans (with Space Marines backup), and Chaos. As you know, half the fun for me is to setup a beautiful diorama on my table for the battle. The other half is to actually play the game with my friends, and then, of course, take pictures as the battle progresses so I can relive the story of the battle again at a later date. I am envisioning the following:

Eldar
2 Phantom titans – 1 heavily modified Armorcast model (shown above) and 1 FW model
2 Revenant titans – FW models (shown above)
A few additional non-superheavy units (some shown above)

Imperial –
2 Imperial Reaver titans (FW models – warprunner one shown above, second titan is not a warprunner)
2 Imperial warhound titans (FW models – warprunners, both shown above)
7 landraiders
Many additional vehicles

Chaos –
3 Chaos Reaver titans (FW models – one shown above, the other painted similarly and a third painted to match the color scheme of the Greater Brass Scorpion of Khorne shown above)
2 Chaos warhound titans (FW models – both shown above)
1 Greater Brass Scorpion of Khorne (FW model - shown above)
3 superheavy vehicles (shown above)
Many landraiders (one shown above)
Some additional vehicles (some shown above)

Terrain – I hope to include trenches and the FW imperial walls.

It will take months for me to prepare and put together this battle and, probably, a few game sessions spread out over a month or two to complete the fight. I may upload the battle pictures in the non-DF portion of this website for you to review. Should be fun.

Hey Rob!
I really look forward to seeing pics of this titanic battle. Not only do you have a nice collection of God-machines, but they are also painted to a high standard, which is truly inspiring!

I wish I could show up with my single Titan and/or Bio-titan and join in on the fun. I could also field like 30 Imperial Guard tanks plus the odd valkyrie, but since I live in europe, I'm afraid, this will stay a wishful thinking.

Concerning the time comsuming effect of an Apokalypse game, just consider restricting the time each side has to put the miniatures on the table to 30 minutes max. Everything not on the table will be held in reserves. In my shop, we had the experience, this helps a bit time-wise. Also consider limiting gaming time. For instance, play on saturday from 10am to 10pm (for example) and on sunday from 10am to 6pm. When you have reached, say 5pm on sunday the current turn is the last one, unless the other player(s) is has played one turn less, in which case they can have their last one. After that, held objectives count for winning conditions. Playing in this way, everyone knows, when to start to go for those coveted objectives for real. And you have a known time limit, which will let you play the game during one weekend.

In any case, with your collection you guys will be having a nice time, indeed.

Greetings,
Idilio
