So this time I went for a larger plaza area. There are also pics of my attempts to paint beads to match what GS has, and some more dollhouse urns, much larger scale this time. And some more pics of the Hirst Arts "frame" I made for a proper platform/dais for DF purposes. Good for the throne, I think. All the Aztec-like stuff comes from the new GW Stegadon plastic set; I picked it up because the throne, the portal, the platform, and the circular pieces looked really kewl. I adorned them with gems from a craft store (hence my recent bead purchases) and I'm really happy with them. Both circular Aztec elements were originally semi-circles, one was done with the tops of lizardmen banners, and the other with part of the stegadon platform itself. I prefer my approach. :)

Enjoy!

Surprisingly those GW pieces look great, normally I find their stuff too over the top.

Where are the funny round plants in the potters from? More dollhouse stuff?

I figured I'd post this here, since these are GW accessories as well. These are statutes from the Empire Chapel. I really love the plastic Empire terrain, those buildings are very funky, and there's room for a certain amount of customization. (For people with industrial cutting equipment and enough money to buy several, there's even more room for customization)

The statues make great "endcaps" for where walls stop, I think, and in doorways, like here. Also great just flat against walls. The comet works well for ROTA, I think.... Goes well with the sun frescoes.

Ha ha ha! Oops!

Yeah, I suppose I could be working more -- but I'm in my second year now, I am not quite as overburdened. Plus I've learned the importance of keeping up a hobby in order to stay sane and keep perspective on the profession. An outlet for letting off steam is crucial. I didn't paint NEARLY enough last year.

Holy Stargate!

Always fantastic to see how the addition of just a few outside pieces can totally change the flavor of a setup.

Law - thanks for sharing the link to the past - someday i will actually make it through ALL of the amazing archived posts - but for now this one at least gets a bump to the top of the list ;)
