Dungeon Crawling in the Ruins of Akashayara

Synopsis: I'd missed a session or two, and in the mean time the others had found the entrance to Akashayara, a dungeon beneath the jungle choked ruins of a massive ancient civilization. We were on the trail of a magical sword that was rumored to be hidden somewhere in the dungeon.

Rolin the Elf had died, so Milo, the pimply young evil wizard, and Lunaldor, the madness touched "Prince of Whores" had hired on a father and son team of Dwarf muscle. The Sigbysons. In battle the paladin Hurmerburt would smite foes in the name of Loki while the proud father would chant "Loki! Loki! Loki!" Good old dwarf comedy.

Ree Kee got on well with the new comers, as did Hellhammer Hammerfist the Unkillable, despite an old clan hatred. Hellhammer was a black sheep in the family as most Hammerfist dwarves were warriors and he had chosen the path of dark secrets and unholy rites.

The characters (grouped by who played the pair):

Ree Kee the Viole(n)t, evil Altanian warlord
Hellhammer "The Unkillable" Hammerfist, evil mountain dwarf warlock

Milo, son of Shilo, evil human wizard
Hurmerburt Sigbyson, evil dwarf paladin of Loki

Lunaldor, Prince of Whores, evil half elf rogue
N'lron Sigbyson, evil dwarf fighter devoted to Loki

Callador, evil human paladin of Harmakhis
(His player came late, so he joined in and our back up characters took it easy)

Ree Kee and Hellhammer found Milo, Lunaldor and the Sigbysons in a passage in Akashayara, heating their stale bread on a small door fire (a D&D classic).

A handful of crude barbarians burst in, intent on slaughtering us. Also, inspirational apparatus.

Another player showed up, so our back up characters took a break, as there was now 4 players. Laid back back up Dwarf party.

Look out for those damn fire farting beetles! The cute ones!

Left to Right; Callador, Milo, Ree Kee and Lunaldor lay into the big horned beetle.

As we passed through a room filled with green mist an unidentifiable creature attacked us, but we fended it off.

Through the room of green mist we came to a chamber of orcs. Finally, a foe we could see and fight!

Destroy the orcs!

Newcastle Ad

Kill them all!

Further into the dungeon, in an ancient dry fountain or bath lurked an ooze!

The pimply evil wizard quickly ensured his own survival.

Ree Kee and Lunaldor started hacking the acidic goo, but...the ooze split in two! The first went down.

The second ooze continued to harass Ree Kee, Lunaldor and Callador

While Ree Kee and Lunaldor killed the ooze Callador snuck off to find a chest in the adjacent room. Ree Kee spotted him shove something in his pouch, so the others blocked the iron rungs to climb out of the ancient ornamental bath.

Callador refused to hand over whatever he had taken, so the others started attacking him with ranged weapons. (We usually don't fight each other but he was a newcomer to the party and stubborn). He ran and hid around the corner.

"Let's go get him"

"This is what happens when you screw a stranger Callador!"

Yeah. That's Lunaldor, Prince of Whores. He went crazy after being horribly disfigured from our battle with a radioactive mutant. Started wearing make up and talking about slitting people's throats. Coincidentally that Batman movie came out around the same time. Huh....

It was a bit much. But his player left to work on a cruise ship for half a year, so nobody had to kill him before he got out of hand. Milo, Son of Shilo, the pimply young evil wizard was at the end of his rope with his patience for the psychotic rogue. It almost came down to a fight the last session he was around.
