Some of these are astounding changes and they all are a vast improvement. I was wondering with repaints... Can you still just throw them into a box with the others or do you store them apart from the other DDM?
After I repaint them I use a spray clear acrylic sealer (matte) on the repaints. I normally spray them with two thin coats let it dry/air out. Then yeah I store them in the same plastic craft boxes with my other DDM minis.

I see you have painted some of the bases...If you wanted to match the DF floors, I would go even darker grey and add more yellow or ochre to the grey...great job!
My only problem with trying to match DF floors is... Which floor do I match. I own DoE, Sci-Fi, Cavernns, MBS and soon to be RoA. Long ago i made some custom bases that had the same DF patterns as each of those but in the end i stopped using them as, when painted right, yeah the fig looks Great, in that set but looks even more out of place that black in a different set... So i just left everything black. Also why i don't like putting like grass flocking on a base, it looks out of place in other settings... and doesn't Black go with everything ;)

Yeah, you do have a point. I normally only paint my fantasy metal miniature bases since they normally aren't walking on a metal moon like the the Death star... "That's no moon! That' a space station!" The DDM bases I did paint seem to match my DoE fairly nice even though it was unintentional. I was trying to match the Fantasy line. LoL

And black is slimming, too

I agree ... what environment to match?
And then what about when the figures leave the dungeons / caverns? What about in towns, forests, roads ? Dirt roads, cobblestone or brick plazas, wood parapet walks, tile roofs? OH THE DILEMA !!!!

So I just "imagine" the black base as being the figure's shadow and eliminate a lot of wasted brain cells thinking of the best base option and a lot of wasted time painting them ;)

** Anyway, Rusty, your repaints look great !! Very nice job !! Well done and thanks for sharing !!

LoL, you two are so right about Black bases, they are the universal color! Think about it, black goes with just about any color, even more black. Black can look sophisticated or simple, solid or spatial, it can be hard like a crevasse in the ground descending to the abyss or soft like the fur of a worg. Black is eco-friendly on computer monitors, and is the official color or accent color of most evil cults and necromancers.

I personally paint the bases of my monsters based on the environment they are most likely to dwell in. Some creatures I actually have in both stone and flocked grass...
