On top of the cliffs of "Insanity!" (inconceivable) The aqua colored bluff of the Azure sea.
The party discovers a hidden stairwell that descends into the the sea sprayed darkness and into an ancient Dwarven citadel.
What secrets have died along with this ancient citadel?
Why did the the Dwarves go?
Did they abandon this place?
If so, why? Are these stony walls cursed?
Did a plague be fall them?
Was there some sort of internal strife?
What did they leave behind, relics or treasure?
Maybe the daring party find something much more insidious?
Maybe they will discover a ruthless cult of elementalists vying for power to command the forces of sea, wind, earth, and fire.

I only have 3 sets right now so don't be too hard on my lack of "furnishings" I hope I shrunk these photos enough.

RustyBlade,

No worries on the number of sets. In fact this is an excellent example of what can be done with just a few key sets. Well done.

Also, I love the use of the 2D stair tiles. I cannot tell if they are the new WotC, or maybe even the old Hero Quest tiles (Similar look and coloring)... Regardless, it is a perfect integration of 2D & 3D terrain--Something which I do as well. And, an excellent way to expand the functionality of the DF you own!

Thanks for posting...

DUDE your setup is Great! I love uses cutouts I find on teh internet or in my FLGS to use with DF. If you can believe it I remember 9 years ago using only the 2 sets I owned.

I'm not sure I've ever seen someone put a wall in front of half the curved stairs and a door in front of the other half. I totally dig it, and I'm definitely stealing that part of the setup!

Admittedly, I've always found those curved stairs a bit awkward.

Thanks for all the votes of encouragement. I would rather use all 3d stuff but sometimes you have to make due with what you got. I can't wait til payday!!! I plan to get another R+P set, Wicked Adds #1, and DoE Room set. The addiction has set. At my last gaming session, I didn't tell anyone I was buying into the DF stuff, so it was a real treat for the group as I unveiled each room from under a black cloth( actually called speaker cloth, cheap from a fabric store) it really added a great sense of anticipation, and exploration plus some realistic terrain. I didn't have to explain what this was or that like you do on a 2d map, it really enhanced the game. This may sound vain, but I think the bow ties being removed from the sets is what tipped me over to start purchasing. Anyways, I haven't owned this stuff much longer that a month and I can't imagine gaming without the stuff. It is really really better quality and utility then I had ever hoped.

Also side note anyone got an extra Ogres Den for sale? I have been watching e-bay but no luck. It's the only piece I want that is OoP. To me it seems to have a lot of uses from a quick cottage or ground floor of a tower, to a kitchen area in a castle or tavern.

Thanks again for the nice comments. I was little nervous people would just laugh at my feeble attempts, after all some of the pictures of peoples layouts are simply breath taking and fantastic!!!

There is currently one up on ebay right now that I am also looking at, but I just got one so probably will not get a second one just so you know. :O) Plus still having to save up for my table

He/she doesn't have it listed as Ogre Den but search Dwarven Forge and you well see it. He/she is also including a 6 X 6 classic floor piece.

I do not see the unique treasure chest piece though that comes with the set to be complete.

The Ogre's Den is great. I use it a ton for anything with multi levels, as it supports a 6x6 and you can just plop it down on the table and play. It's also crucial if you like running a lot of urban encounters, as it takes no time to drop down and go to town.

I forgot to mention in the other thread...

Welcome to the addiction. I remember when Blair and I's collection consisted of what you've got now. It's a long joyous road.
