One of the characters in my Wilderlands game was killed in Alastair's Arena in Harpstring. Oramin "Black Snake" is a worshipper of Set and favored by the local powers that be. The Lord of the village, who is a Setite, used an ancient horrible rite to trap his soul in the Shadowlands (by the grace of Set, of course). The other characters delved through a portal to where Black Snake's soul was held in this unholy confinement.

I'm sure the pictures are all small, but for some reason if I use image tags on this forum they don't work. Sorry.

This set up was heavily influenced by Invincible Overlord's pyramid set up from a couple years back. Mine's a lot less rad, but hey, I'm no Invincible Overlord. Here's his...

Yeah - always great stuff, and with the great billowing Tube of the Gods to lend an assist, why, you must run quite an excellent game!

Cool layout!!! really makes me want to do some type of temple of Zehir or Planes of darkness with snake tongue cultists and Yuan-ti zealots worshiping Zehir.

You get a "You Rock the Free world" on that one. I like the lighting and not having every nook and crany filled. Nice.

I'm glad you dig it.

One question...

Why not make it a temple of Set on the Shadowlands with Setites and Snake men cultists bowing to the Old Serpent?

6 of one, half dozen of the other, I guess.

I've just been reading a lot of Conan, and it makes me wonder why call something by a new name when its so obviously something old.

If you've never looked into the Wilderlands campaign setting by Judges Guild I suggest it, as it was the first published setting for D&D (1979 IIRC) and it rules. If you love all things sacred about old school D&D and sword & sorcery fiction you'll love it. Necromancer Games put out an amazing boxed set of the Wilderlands for 3.x that is the most detailed setting of all time. Highly recommended.
