Cool (although I don't think the pictures in your post worked, the link does).

Is the hand a stuffed glove?

Hey guys,

Thanks!

To answer all the questions:

The hand was made with four packs of black Sculpy III. It took about 30 minutes to make and was my first foray into Sculpy. In fact, I just discovered Michael's (the hobby store chain) for the first time this week and it's like a whole new world opened up.

The pipe is real 1/2" pipe from the hardware store. I stole the idea from someone else, but darn if it doesn't look good.

The containment chambers were put together from a kit I found on eBay. These were a bear to get working. The plastic cylinders are sealed to the hand painted resin bases with clear, waterproof epoxy. The bottom quarter inch or so of the chambers are filled with clear water effects gel from Vallejo. Getting the seal right was very difficult. I would pour the gel into all four and it would seal. The next morning three leaked all over the place. Then I would seal three, and two would leak, two then one, etc., until I finally got a good seal on all of them. My wife thought I was insane. The minis are plastic D&D miniatures, stuck in the Vallejo gel as it dried. I like that it has a kind of smoky effect around their feat; totally unintentional. Once the seals were good, I filled the chambers with green shampoo and sealed the tops (which I don't trust). The storage cabinet where they've been hiding for months smells like apples.

I was looking at that water elemental this morning and realized I could do better. It's supposed to be pumping sewage. I took the dice cube and the mini over to the sink next to the coffee maker in the kitchen and thought, hmmm, how am I going to come up with brownish, brackinsh sewage water? Hmmm. Yep, coffee cut with water. The seal is drying right now. Wish me luck.

Come on Kradlo, you should recognize them, it is just a different paint scheme of Tony's Griffon Studio Large Containment Unit/Bacta Tank.
