Nicely done, Thod! I suggested this one in a thread about a year ago, but never thought that I would actually SEE one!

...very cool, my friend.

I still would like to see Stefan take a crack at this one though. I always envisioned one that was rich with dungeon DF flavor and art...something that would make PC's think twice about, before throwing their dice into it : )

Oh well, maybe someday after DF's Ice Cavern and Hive expansions...heh.

Still, your dice tray is very cool. I'm envious, to say the least.

I just checked it out - actually you can take the credit for suggesting it. I knew I read about it here on the board - and it was sticking in my mind. Didn't remembered all the details - and thought there were several people suggesting it.

Turns out - it was only you - albeit in three posts :lol

I've read up your original ideas. They go further as what I have produced. Maybe some day I will try improvements along your lines. Until then I will have to test the durability of the design. 24 more hours and I will use it the first time for real.

I have considered using four of the cavern curved wall corners mounted on masonite as a cool dice roller but I just can't do that to my master maze pieces.

Your dice roller looks great and functional.

You got me thinking about alternative designs. Regard yourself as responsible if I try a different design this weekend.

Ghostmage

I have done some browsing and found the most interesting dice trays at

www.dwarvensweatshoppe.com/

Together with Daggerdales comments and rereading yours this got me thinking. The Dwarven Sweatshoppe ones are smaller than mine - and in quite some shapes. Well - as said above - I have ideas for 2 additional designs at the moment ...

This looks very cool. In a pinch it could be used also for an atrium with plant critters.?.

Thanks Thod for the shortcut to that web-site!

I'm impressed with the different options that they are offering...now that's a selection of customized dice-trays! I might have to buy one from this site...thanks again, and good luck with your alternate designs!

I must admit that at times i have rolled the dice in a room made out of just 4 corners of the MM, heck i have even used it to store chips... :)

Wow, nice job. The texture on the base is really fetching... looks like a bubbling mire of magic what-not or something.

The surface is velour paper. It is pretty similar to the bottom of the DF pieces. The shine is probably due to the use of a flash. The velour refelcts light quite differently depending on direction you look at it.

I've been working on a smaller one using 4 cavern corners from my ice set (cast in black polyurethane). Unfortunately only got three castings done last weekend. I also bought some green felt. The reason is two fold. I expect it to last longer as the velour paper - and I hope I can use it to iron on some design to make it even more interesting. In parallel I'm working on a second octagonal one with felt as well (needs the same number of castings but different moulds - so can be done perfectly in parallel).
But somehow the week and work did start before it got finished.
