This was going to be my submission for the MBS Contest but Shoe pointed out that it wasn't a "legal" setup since I used cardstock to support the second level. DOH !!! "R.I.F.", Mike, "R.I.F." !!!!

Well, this set-up used EVERY piece from 2 MBS and 1 MBS Expansion EXCEPT for the 4"x6" floor piece. I'm glad I had a lot of accessories to give the place a "lived-in" look.

While the rooms are self explanatory, I wanted to comment on a few of them. The first being the Great Room or tavern, proper … the new bar will go at the side opposite the fireplace and adjacent to the opening from the Kitchen. A second bar accessory will make great cupboards lining the kitchen walls. The adjacent Larder is used for stores not needing the cooler air of the basement (see the hatch … I'm just itching to put this over some of my DF Dungeon pieces !!). The second floor takes you to a series of bedrooms including a large and inexpensive "dorm" style lodging. I'm looking forward to the additional beds that will come in the MBS Accessory Set as are the patrons of this fine inn. While the ale is first-rate, the straw mats leave a lot to be desired. Finally, one needs a Secret Room behind those cool bookcases but they don't simply open with a push. The thief, er "adventurer", needs to unlock them with the old "Scooby Do" pull of the nearby candlesticks first ... they're not located there just for stair safety illumination.

I opted for a two-story set-up which, to my mind, is the "quintessential" layout of a Wayside or Coaching Inn. The second level is supported by simple cardstock board.

Oh, and for those wondering, the mat that the "Belching Bard" is on is a vinyl Department 56 Christmas village item. Shhh ... don't tell my wife :D
