A few other shots of some ways to use the HA accessories in a DF cavern. I'm trying to find ways to make these useful, to delineate chambers in the cavern without it looking too angular.

Have you tried them already as outcrops directly on water. So far all your HA is on land but I expect you can place them pretty well directly on some water areas as well. Giving the lake set a lot more possibilities.

I just got an e-mail earlier - my molds are on the way.

Next on my wish list: The DF water sets (haven't got them yet) and the HA cavern molds, then I'll be very happy indeed!

Excellent work! The combination of the two systems has never been better!

Nice job, L! You've done excellent work in painting the HA pieces to match the DF caverns.

Great pictures L!

I think this also helps to illustrate just how well an actual DF Cavernous Wicked Additions Set would work with the existing DF cavern sets.

I really hope that such a set has not been relegated to the "back-burner".

p.s. I really like the pieces shown here and will most-likely get a couple sets as a result. That being said, once a DF CWA Set is available I'm good for two or three sets myself (depending upon the size of the set).

I did a few shots of that, but I didn't post them yet. I've done this sort of thing before, with the DF accessories, and I'm not crazy about it. It's neat enough, but I'm just pedantic enough to find a problem with it: the accessory clearly does not exist below the water surface. That alone is enough to disappoint, but it really bothers me when so much ELSE on the tile clearly IS below the surface. It just looks wrong to have a massive rock formation so clearly floating ON the water when others are below the water, poking through it. Plus, there's all that STUFF under the water clearly connected to the shore, to the stalagmites, etc. -- so anything that wasn't there originally really looks off to me.

If I were playing a session where this sort of thing were needed, I'd be fine with it, and I'd think it looked plenty good enough. But for taking photographs that I take some trouble to frame properly, light properly, etc., these small details make enough of a difference for me to say "not good enough."

Still, I'll post a few shots at some point, just so people can see what it looks like.

Amen! I really do hope that the secret, non-water element included in the Water Expansion set is something like this, a large stalagmite or even stalactite column piece -- that would be GREAT. But if not, I hope that enthusiasm over these HA items will convince Stefan that a Cavernous WA set would be a hot item...

Pretty neat...Those pieces (although a little crude) do show the potential of a "Wicked Editions" type Cavern Set. I would want to make some larger stalagmites, and have some growing out of the floors and stuff like that, but really detailed stuff, with water pools and other stuff...

I am just re-finishing the final pieces for the Cavernous Water Expansion Set. I cannot slip out any details yet....not...yet....

After that I've got one or two pretty kool projects that tie into the Caverns... ooops...I guess that's a slip....and those aren't even the Ice and Fire caves I still want to do...

So, I would say that the "Cavern series" is probably only about half way through or perhaps only a third of the way completed, if it ever gets "completed" there just seems like there are so many kool add ons to do...

but I also don't want to neglect the basic dungeon series much longer either...(the Sci-fi is in the works)

I approve. ;) Seriously, I would LOVE to see what a Cavernous WA would look like. I think the appeal of large stalagmite and stalactite/stalagmite columns is well-established by this point -- plus, the latter would be greatly useful for stacking caverns.

I think we'd all love to see what you come up with, Stefan, but until that WA set comes out, these might be an appropriate substitute!

That's all GREAT news!

I can't wait for these.

Here are a few more shots. Some of these feature the HA rocks placed directly on the water pieces -- they look decent enough, but as I said before, it's no substitute for the real thing. I've also found a neat way to exploit the fact that the rocks are much lower than the regular height of DF walls; they make a good "balcony railing" for a raised cavern section, so you don't have to have a whole wall there but you also don't have to leave an obviously unnatural completely straight "drop off."

I'm really pleased with these, but I can't wait to add resin water to them tonight and get little pools for them...

Thats fantastic - the Cavern range is what originally drew me into DF and it remains my fav range.
I am really pleased to hear that there will be plenty more sets to come out in this range.

The HA stuff does give an indication of what a set of additional 'plonk down' pieces could do.
I still think an alternative straight wall section would do wonders for the range in breaking up the uniformity
of walls in larger cavern rooms.

Could this be a possibility in a future WA set or even as an additional single piece?
