I think he was trying to get out of not listing his email on the forum.

Folks get ahold of it and....spam city....

The way he listed it is a way of getting around the easy "spot" of an email for a person just browsing quickly but yet still able to list it for folks who are actually reading the email. :(

The Mystic Block molds are a shadowy aquisition of mine. Someone in the UK offered some molds for sale - apparently he had bought them from a crafts fair. Sounded a little bit fishy - still - the final price was approx. the raw material - so I put in a decent bit.

What suprises me when I get them is, that they seem to be the identical rubber I have used for my own molds. Looking at some feedback of the seller and doing some digging I find some feedback from my rubber supply as well as feedback from Otherworld selling some Mystic Blocks to him.

Would I have known it before I wouldn't have put in a bit. With some extra work I can do similar ones myself and won't have to feel bad using them. But I have to admit - the molds really paved the way to the Ice Cavern as they taught me to think 'BIG' in regard to molds. The nice bit - I now have some 'Ice' as well as resin version of these blocks for own use.

Thanks - you are number 2 and 3. I will work something out tonight. So stay tuned.

PS: My preorder (3 Lake Expansions and 3 Tavern Sets) seems still with Parcelforce - waiting customs payment with the invoice not reaching me yet ...

Your are (still) fine. I'm quite floored by the interest. Seems Half the stock is gone now in less than 24 hours.

With this speed I will be out of carpets by the weekend ...

For everyone who might be late - I will get some more stock in and then I will do the whole lot in a little bit more professional way. At least I have added some numbers now to the pictures (which are dire). I also promise I will now start on the DF carpet. The response here has given me the confidence I won't be left with 999 carpets on my own - with one going to the Mad Yank.

Just give me some time. There are other ideas I would like to test out as well. Just need some weeks holiday ...

High on the list at the moment:

A Dwarven Forge style Dice Tray (need one urgently and have some ideas how to make one)

Some molds for mines which are compatible with DF (will need some heavy custom work)

The waterfall revisited - I once made a waterfall - and I'm still pretty proud of it. But it didn't last due to the way I made it (for photos see www.dwarvenforge.com/dwarvenforums/viewtopic.php?id=639 ). Now that I learnt a lot it might be time to go back

Something together with YanSolo

Well - and off course - whatever idea hits me ... and yes - some of the ideas aren't necessarily my own ...

All

I've assigned and put in an envelop all the carpets yesterday. Mails will go out tonight to everyone who has shown interest with numbers assigned. Large carpets are out completely.

I will close new inquiries for a moment until I have sorted all the current ones out (to allow swaps in case someone doesn't like a certain design). If something is then still left I will post here. Otherwise if you missed it - I will definately work on some custom ones now and will also get a bigger number in for next time.

Hi Harnloot

Yes - just contacted you by e-mail. Hmm - maybe some spam filters (16/10/2007 in case someone wants to search them). Some seem to have come through - half of the carpets are paid by now.

Will resend yours in a moment.

Thod,

Very interested to know when you may have some more carpets available. I was away on holidays when your carpet emporium opened and closed!

Cheers

Thanks for letting me know. Haven't heard back from anyone else yet. But as I haven't heard any missing carpets either I assume all is okay (Darrin - no - yours was the last going out - see e-mail).

Bossman

Drop me a line - I have some left and two 'unpaid' customers.

All

Great to have a lazy weekend. I did start a project I wanted to do for month - but never started as I wasn't sure how it would turn out. One tiny project a week ago is shelved for a while. I tried to make some picture frames. The idea - using a 'treasure chest' which ones contained sweets from turkey. Make some impressions in play dough. Cast some masters in plaster. Glue them on a thin sheet of plasticard and make a mold with remaining rubber from the ice set. Then cast them in resin - and insert a flat lego plate in the middle for mounting on DF walls with my Lego mounting system.

Well - pictures 1-5 show the whole idea. It seemed to work well - until I tried to demold the frames. I had a >50% breakage rate. But worse - for some reason the play dough was inhibiting the curing of the plaster. All details were gone completely and the plaster was soapy where it was in contact with the play dough.

I kept two frames - but they are rather for some old, worthless paintings as they look rotten.

But while it's great to have loads of resin or rubber for any eventuality there is the downside that at some stage it will just cure on it's own. I therefore tried miliput for the first time to make some fieldstone corner using some pebbles from the beach instead of my own sculpting skills (which are lousy).

So I used up all the rubber and made a mould for a fieldstone wall corner instead. And - for the first time ever I tried some coluring paste. All I have to say is - WOW. I always stepped back due to the high cost (£9.99 which currently is > $20) for 100 g). But having it used just once I'm really wish I would have spend the money earlier.

The resulting pieces are nicely black. They look great even before I have painted them. Chipping - shouldn't be that noticeable any more. But most important - so far I spend 85+% of the time painting my fieldstone walls with coating them. Yes - I tried a spray can. It would never go into all the narrow crevices. And a can would run out in no time at all. Even with a brush you spend most of the time ensuring no white would shine through - especially from a place which should be rather darker.

And the best - I fearded the moulds would be stained. After all - I might want to use some later for clear reasin again. But so far = no stains at all.

So what's my project about? Stay tuned - with luck I will have it ready today. I need 4 castings in total. Just have a break as the battery on my scales has run out of power and needs recharging ... It's something people did ask DF for several times - but probably something pretty low on the agenda of Stefan.
