OK, so there's a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie coming out, and that means new pirate toys, and that is COOL.

I picked up a figure that comes with a really great massive floor-stand globe accessory. Problem: the globe has an "action feature," it lights up. And that means it is cast in yellow-tinted clear plastic. You can see the wires inside. It's still neat, but... just not what it could be.

So I painted it light brown and gave it a dark brown inkwash. MUCH better. Now it really looks like an antique globe, good and proper.

Enjoy!

Through a mini next to it, want to see what it looks like size wise for comparison, i think this could look really cool, with a clear ball or globe , to make it like a hologram in it, and use it as a holographic globe :) Or just to see how big this looks for mini, it would be a decent prop in the Adventure path we are doing now if it isn't really really big.

It's a pretty large globe -- the figure next to it is the same size as a regular SW figure - the globe is easily more than twice the height of a mini.

It might work for a planetarium, as a central item in a massive lab somewhere, just ridiculously oversized so that locations on the globe are as large as a human viewer. And it luckily does not have recognizable Earth continents on it, so it would be right at home in a fantasy environment.

Actually, come to think of it, I may DO this when I get my MBS expansion set. It would be cool to make a two- or even three-story structure with a series of balconies and a very long drop in the middle, like the whole building is a massive stairwell, and in the middle could be this huge globe. On floor 1, you can interact with the Southern Region, on floor 2, you can interact with the Equatorial region, and on floor 3, you can interact with the Northern Region. Hmmm... Yes, this has to happen....

Yeah i saw it in a Wallmart yesterday, passed on it at the time. Sine it is a deluxe hoping it will be around on mark down (though since it has a swan figure it may help or hurt markdown chances...)
