So I found some small, imported (somewhat expensive, but not too bad by miniature gaming standards -- $16 each) figures from Kotobukiya of Japan, representing "Master Creatures" from Final Fantasy. I'm afraid I know nothing about the game, so I can't say which game these are from, or who they are, or anything.

BUT -- they sure look cool in a DF setup!

These are called Ifrit (the firebreathing demon) and Cefca Palazzo (the angel/demon winged flying thing) and they're pretty cool. One thing that's really neat is that the flying demon has a base which neatly encircles the glyph in the DoE WA big floor piece perfectly.

Holy Cow! Those are awesome! It would be great to be able to paint those as pewter pieces, those flames are fantastic! That demon os straight out of the legends movie...

Ah, Tim Currie in one of his very best roles! Legend was a terrific film.

The figures look great, and I'm sure they'd give the players a heart attack once they saw them!

Nice Mini's L !! The Den Of Evil looks to be made exclusively just for them!

I have got to get some of those figures. Do you have a link for purchasing those?

Thanks man!

Strange enough, look for "Final Fantasy Master Series" on that well known Web media store, like a female warrior, and you may find some. Or simply do a search on "Final Fantasy Master Creatures miniatures" in google...

Yeah -- sadly, the only place I know that had these online is sold out. There are some local places I can find a few, but I don't know where they can be found online anymore. Most fanboy toy stores should have them.

Incidentally, most of the really cool "miniature accessory" type toys that I buy -- the McFarlane dragons, or the SOTA Lovecraft beasts, or these FF things -- can be found at Bigbadtoystore.com. Casual browsing around their site every month or so might be a good idea for people who like this sort of thing. This dealer has been around forever, and is very reliable. Plus, he's got extensive pre-orders available, so you don't have to hope that you happen to browse on a day when stuff is available and not yet sold out -- you can find out what's coming months in advance and even if you don't want to order from BBTS, you can at least know it's coming! It's a great resource, especially since most toys tend to cost between $10-30, in contrast to what we're used to with miniature gaming prices, where comparably sized beasts start at $50 and have to be assembled and painted to boot...

I found (and ordered) them both on Ebay. "L" has cost me like $80 this month. ;)

Those are great - I saw the same figures at the movie store at the mall, and pointed that same demon out to my wife. Is there something about DF that makes us look at everything as potential gamng material? I used to be a metal miniature purist, and now half of what I play with is plastic...

It's not a dungeon. It's an Underground Fortified Defense Installation.
