I love all those props! I noticed that you have some of the JR Miniatures resin cast sci-fi stuff in there. I've always been relcuctant to buy that stuff because I'm a little shaky when it comes to painting skills. I'm great with prop design, its just the painting that scares me. How difficult were the paint schemes for the JR Miniature stuff?

I in No Way consider myself to be a good painter, i am actually not happy doing it, i don't think i suck at it, but i also don't think i do a very good job. (The WotC Metal Jedi in this thread is an example of a mini i painted, and in the next story there will be many many more of the Metal WotC SW ones so you can get a true idea of my skill from a few years ago). With that said i didn't find the JR stuff bad at all, nor the Griffon Studios. I think my painting skills have increased a bit having done some HA, and all of the Grendel, HA, Griffon Studios, JR miniatures, Mega Minis and various Other things though. I guess i have just been forced into painting some of these things that i don't much loath it as much as i used too.

I don't think they are bad, and in all honesty it all depends on how much work you want to put into them, i did to my mind the bare minimum to get them done, i can go back and do them better later if i have to need to. But there were some items i liked and wanted so i painted them.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the base.

The platoon advances into the hanger facing heavy resistance from the droid army, members of the 209th take down a few of the modified Vulture droids, and use them for cover. The Shistivan Lak Savrak leads the charge into the bay, deflecting many of the shots.

Lak takes on the remaining Vulture droid as the Clone Troopers try to press through the opening into the base. A padawan brings up a pair of Repulsor craft to evacuate the dead and wounded.

After dealing with the last of the Vulture droids, Lak turns his attention to the destroyer droid that has made it’s way through the carnage and has trained it’s sights on him

Furiously deflecting shoots, he manages to weed out much of the opposing forces, and even send a few back into the Drodieka taking it out, but another soon replaces it.

After dispatching this one, Lak moves to the center of the remaining droids, with ARC trooper Nat and press into the base. The surviving Clones enter one of the command chariots and call for the pick ship.

The surviving clones gather up the dead and wounded to take to a med star frigate in a neighboring system with the aid of a Padawan. As the Clone Commander watches for anymore surprises.

Nat and Lak enter the complex and survey the few reaming droids at work at various consoles.

Lak moves over to dispatch the final droids, as Nat heads to a restricted area of the base.

The destruction is incredible droid parts litter the area, but it is nothing as compared to what awaits them next. As Nat Heads for the sealed door of the Research wing, the creature in the chamber senses his approach.

Nat sets about cracking into the sealed door, the creature hearing him at work on the other side moves off.

Nat cracks the door, and the Alien creature scurries off, as Lak senses a disturbance in the force.

Nat looks on in wonder at the oddly decorated walls that are out of place with the rest of the base, just as a call comes over the COM from Master Nep. Nat acknowledges, as Lak does as well. Lak however moves down to the area where Nat is investigating the odd walls and com’s Nep back.

Nat and Lak move through the research area, going by the containment tanks, and finally into a macabre chamber where many of living members of the base have been sequestered. Stuck to the walls, all are dead now, with gapping holes in their chests. Lak com’s Nep and informs him of the discovery, Nep reports that he and the Remainder of Teta will be over to investigate, and to meet him at the top of the droid storage area…

To be concluded…

Final Chapter
Lak and Nat await confirmation of the arrival of Teta and Master Nep, while waiting Lak gets detects a disturbance in the force, a growing danger. Concerned he reaches out first in his immediate surroundings, and feels the presence of a cold, completely alien live force beyond the blast door, and attributes the sensation he is feeling to that.

Teta and Nep move out of the power core into the now deserted and empty base, Nep as well senses a disturbance, but like Lak he is more in tune with the Living force and not the Unifying force. However the padawan Sam is very in tune with the Unifying Force and becomes greatly distressed. Nep tries to calm the young padawan, while inside the creatures move about, with an animal cunning preparing for the attack., they go into hiding, blending in with the chitin like walls in the empty alcoves of the droid storage chamber.

Teta and Nep move to the top of the droid storage complex, as inside the creatures are completely hidden.

Lak and Nat move into the corridor to meet up with Teta and Master Nep

Chief commands Pyro to open the door, as he covers it, and Master Nep gets ready to enter as Sam stands by nervously. The unease the Jedi are feeling is making them all on edge, So far they have yet to see a living member of the research staff, while the base can hold 20 or so, there is something very wrong…
They pop the door and see Nat and Lak coming up but nothing else.

With a bit of a sigh of relief that nothing is jumping out at them Master Nep, and Knight Lak, along with the ARC trooper Nat examine the odd walls.

Outside the drop ship has returned and is loading up the wounded.

While the Jedi and ARC examine the walls they seem to stir as if alive and creatures reveal themselves.

As Nat and the Jedi begin to battle the creatures, Chief gets signal with priority command security and override protocols. Instructing Pyro to lend support and watch Sam he moves off to find a secure holo station.

Finding one in the quarters of what can only be the bases commanders or top scientists, he activates the unit, and a cloaked figure appears giving him an executive order, carries out order 66.

As he moves back he relay the order to all of the troopers.
All troopers are to target the Jedi; they are now enemies of the Republic.

The Troopers out side the base do so with utter ruthlessness, they gun down the Padawan helping them carry in the wounded.

Secure transmissions are sent to Pyro and Nat to be carried out when they he returns to give them fire support.
Pyro is commanded to target Sam.
Nat is commanded to target Lak, while Chief will take out Master Nep.

As Chief arrives the Jedi and the Arc are slowing defeating the creatures but it is fierce hand to claw combat. Pyro methodically carries out his orders and kills young Sam.

Pyro then moves to aid Chief against astoundingly both Jedi and Nat.

Inside Nat, has refused to fire on the Jedi. His decision has little to do with the situation, and more to do with who he is. The ARC troopers are the most like Jango Fett the template of every clone, many Nat included were trained by him. ARC troopers are the most independent, and individualistic of all the clones. In the years of the Clone wars Nat developed a respect and trust for the Jedi, Lak in particular, and could not believe the order, and chose to ignore it. He chose to fight with the Jedi instead of against them. However Master Nep is distracted, and wounds taken fighting the creatures, and the death of two padawans, one his own causes some of Chiefs and Pyro’s blaster fire to escape his defenses. Knowing the situation is grim, Nep manages to reflect some of the blasts to hit the creatures, Lak and Nat are fighting hoping to give Nat and Lak a chance against the traitors clones but in the end it is to much for even a Jedi Master to stop all of the blasts and accumulated damage from acid and he slumps to the floor.

Chief opens a Com line to the troops outside, they report mission accomplished awaiting Commando team, and ARC trooper before lift off. Chief keeps the line open saying they will be there shortly.

With no creatures remaining, Chief and Pyro move in to finish their orders. Chief, again orders Nat to target Lak, but Nat refuses. The commandos aim their weapons. Chief at Lak, and Pyro at Nat, in a stand off, with Nat aiming at them, and Lak ready to deflect what ever comes his way.

In the end it is Chief and Pyro’s almost mindless devotion to duty and orders that makes the scene end in tragedy. In almost unison, the clones with the same reflexes and reactions fire at once. Pyro fires at Nat while, Nat fires at Chief. Both connect but the Commando armor takes some of the damage, Pyro is still standing as Nat slumps to the floor. neither Commando is killed out right, though both are wounded. At the same moment Chief fired two quick shots, one is deflected by Lak into Pyro killing him, however Lak also wounded from the fight is unable to recover his defenses, and is struck a mortal wound by the other attack from Chief and falls to the floor. As Pyro and Lak lay dying Chief wounded turns to leave as Nat takes one last action before he dies and shoots Chief.

One the drop ship the video feeds from Teta squad and the ARCS go still, the same general image in all is shown. A now quit scene of death, the ARC trooper Nat’s the most telling. The bodies of three Jedi are seen lying in a pile of strange creatures, the rest of Teta squad is dead as well. With no troops left to pick up, the pilot lifts off with wounded clones to get back to a now Imperial Medstar frigate.
