thanks for the set count.....gives me an idea as to what I need to aim for with regards to sets to get a great looking set up :) always wondered what went into the amazing set ups that the other members have shown on the site.

most inspirational indeed :)

You're welcome. I bought all of my Dwarven Forge sets at major Conventions. DF always runs some sort of special at the the big shows. At GenCon '07 I think that I'm going to invest in 2 more Beta sets and perhaps 2 more Starter Sets, it just sort of depends upon the specials they have.

Hahaha,
You Americans are all very fortunate to be able to make the conventions. No such luck down under. Not only do we have to combat excess shipping charges, we miss out on the convention specials as well :)

One day......perhaps :)

Wow, nice big set up and really well used space. Love the elevated launch pad.

The day is near my gaming friend. GenCon is coming to Australia in 2008! July 3-6 to be exact. Go here for more details:

Hopefully Dwarven Forge will be at the Con Down Under.

The whole elavated launch area concept came to me when I had the idea to make a recessed command center. That is the room located in the middle of the launch area. By using 3 of the large panel covers the command center can be covered up to make an even larger launching platform.

Recently I've been working on some new props to go along with my DF Sc-Fi stuff. My painting skills are questionable at best, so I try to come up with ways that I can avoid any complicated paint schemes.

This guard shack was made using some random electrical supplies lying around in the garage.

This came from the IMEX Platform series. I decided it looked pretty good without painting, so I flocked the base and glued it down.

Finally, I like to use a lot of the paper fold-up props. My favorites are the Bacta tanks and the P-Towers.

stsparks72,
thanks for the heads up re gencon oz :) Had heard that there was something in the air, but it was so long ago that I thought it had pretty much been just a rumour :)

and the beauty of the entire thing is that its only up the road from home :) About a 5 minute drive. Couldn't have asked for better :)

Now, if only DF will make it down under for that Con.

Come on Jeff/Stefan.........DF needs better representation down under :) If there's more DF users down under, there is be another market to tap :)

stsparks72,

Search on eBay for Tony Griffon under toys & miniatures or fantasy terrain; he makes a LOT of accessories, especially for DF Sci-Fi. He has Bacta Tanks, Computer consoles, and other stuff that is relatively dirt-cheap and looks great. Only drawback isthat you DO have to paint it, or else it's resin white.
Small price to pay, I say.

See ya!
