The first section of the Howling Cavern, which I'd used previously, consists of two Cavern Set, and two Cavernous Rivers & Walls sets. The remainder uses my third Cavernous Rivers & Walls set, another Cavern Set, and three Cavernous Lake Sets, plus 3 Open Water tiles.

So, total is 3 Cavern Sets, 3 Cavernous Rivers & Walls Sets, 3 Cavernous Lake Sets.

You'll note that the cavern section leading off the big lake has an transition piece to a dungeon. I'm planning a dungeon labyrinth to extend from there.

It is SO good to have the space to play now! :D

This (and other) photo set really illustrates how a mere half-dozen Open Water tiles can REALLY change a Cavernous Lake set-up -- the underwater lake is a huge expanse of water, and opens the cavern to near-epic proportions.

More fun tonight, including a Drow cleric and her spider friends, a trio of skeletons, some poison dusk lizardfolk with blowguns (thank you Stefan!), and a grumpy earth elemental.

The last let the Dwarf cleric of Moradin use his ability to rebuke earth creatures, to good effect.

I think my favorite part was when the cleric of Heironeous disbelieved in a real wall, rolled a natural 20, and walked right through it. Reality is what you make it, don't you know.

;)

Kradlo,

Your setup is awesome. Nice update to the game. I want to disbelieve that DF is out of open water tiles. Everytime I see this setup and others I lament that I waited until the end of the year to put my next order in and lost out on the open water pieces for now. If I was in your party I would not have worried about the earth elemental but the water elemental you painted the other day. Not sure if the Dwarf cleric of Moradin would have ever seen anything like that when he was becoming a cleric.

Here's the layout of the Howling Cavern, thanks to the Tile Mapper (courtesy of LoneStarr and pfworks).

The entrance to the cavern is on the left (that's where the Dwarf got killed by the fiendish dire rats in the first adventure). The group is currently at about the midpoint, having gotten through the bottleneck river section.

The poison dusk lizardfolk have scattered (one dead), but several of their blowgun darts found their targets (poisoned, of course). The large body of water leads to the surface and to a swamp (the home of the lizardfolk).

The cavernous conversion piece in the upper right leads to a dungeon. More fun to follow!
