A small set up - just a single room ;-) I did this morning. I was playing around with a few bits and pieces.

And here is the view from above. This is currently changing - I will post an update once I'm finished. It will stay a single room.

Wow! Great pictures! And a really fantastic advert for Hirst Arts and MM working together. The elaborate stairs made with both are really well done.

This is a fantastic arrangement, those HA flourishes are breathtaking!

Nice that you like it. I've broken up some of the stairs and rearranged. Now it's going up even higher.

Very cool. Glad to see the stairs worked out for you! I really like the "claw" stairs. Those look great!

Thod,

Those stairs look GREAT!

What was even more impressive, was their versatility.

Those stair pieces in the far corners fit in perfectly, and gave the whole room a destinctive look.

BTW, your seamless blending of the MM and DOE sets was both convincing and excellent as well.

You have keen eyes - there was no picture with the corners highlighted. These were 'spare' pieces and I looked for a nice way to use them.

In regard to the blending. I tried with three pieces of the river and lake set to form an outside moat. It looked really good and would have blended even one more set into the whole design. I didn't finish this, as it was too much work to be done for just a few photos to be deassembled half an hour later.

I've added one of the pictures (disguising there are only three pieces).

Just had a closer look after I posted the picture. Water in the foreground, followed by classic DF as foundation, some own HA windows on top and in the background the DOE. So much for the possibilities of blending ...

And yes - some people here might have seen the picture elsewhere already ...

Great setup - innovative all around. Like others I am impressed with the blending of DF & Hirst pieces...have been thinking along those lines myself but havn't any Hirst pieces just yet. Like your carpets as well - from doll house stuff?

Still need to get used to your acronym - this is close to trademark infringement (just joking) ...

In regard to the carpets. I've mixed feelings about them. Don't get me wrong - they are beautiful. I got the small one when my wife visited a friend in Turkey. She got that one at a small street stall where they sold them.

It hardly cost her anything - but was the best she could have brought back. In summer we had planned to go there with the whole family. I located a shop with >100 !! different designs. But the trip never happened.

When her friend visited us later the summer I asked to get a few more carpets. A month later 10 really beautiful ones arrived. Unfortunately she got the size wrong and I have now 10 stunning carpets designs the size of the lower one. They are beautiful - but you really, really need a HUGE room to put them in.

Well - next year I will do the shopping myself.

Sorry thod - - but I've been THOTH long before I ever joined this form - so you'll just have to get used to it I guess...anyway - I like those carpets...and its funny I've been to Turkey 3 times over the last 10-15 years and spent a few weeks each visit...bought carpets even (actually mostly killums...a technicality perhaps) - lots of them (big ones...) - but somehwow never even noticed - or even thought to inquire about - tiny ones!
