Hello everyone!

I finally received my first batch of Dwarven Forge stuff. I'm quite happy with it, and just had to make my first Dungeon. The first photo is the stuff i had to work with.

The players have to stop a dark ritual from taking place. The bad guys hired a bunch of goatfolk mercenaries to delay any intruders in their lair. If you watch carefully, you'll see a mercenary fleeing, trying to warn the cultists of the heroes' arrival.

First build, so please critic!

Totally reminds me of something out of Diablo. I love it.

Good build and a nice peace of drama with the beastman messenger.

Is that a Room & Passage (x2), Short Passage set, Wicked Additions 1 & 2 sets and a Fantasy Floors set we see?

Kaladhan,

You took those pieces and produced a multi-level setup with it.

Awesome stuff!

I can't wait to see what you come up with if you ever decide to get a cavern set to go with this.

BTW, if you like multi-level setups might I suggest you add some (Upper and lower) stairs to your next order while they're available individually.

Kaladhan,

If THIS is a first-time-out setup, we can expect some SERIOUS setups from you in future!

Mike IO, WATCH OUT! M. Tom, YOU have competition! Ghenghis Ska, L.; be warned.

Seriously, Kaladhan, this is some excellent work.

Too bad Montreal and Toronto are as far apart as they are; you and Wereweasel could have some GREAT gaming ahead. Of course, if DF sets and miniatures are the same, or close enough for use, the two of you could coordinate PBeM without even traveling.

Hey, THERE'S an idea! And NOT just for you two guys!

Has anyone ever tried to set up a PBeM D&D network? Using DF, it would be possible to match up setups so the gamers could keep up with the DM. Y'know, this could have serious possibilities. I think I'm going to move this to the Gaming Talk section and continue it.

Back on track, MadYank; back on track.

Kaladhan, seriously, you have an excellent first setup there. Congrats are in order, and tendered.

See ya!

Thank you everyone for the feedback.

I would like to state that this set-up hasn't actually seen play. I just had to make something out of it as soon as I received everything. I hope you guys understand! ;) I'm currently building something for my next game session. I'll make sure to post some pictures of it.

I don't believe old-time posters have anything to fear from my set-ups. First and foremost, because they have a lot of talent. Secondly, because they have more and better accessories than me. I don't see them as competition, but rather mentors who have many tricks to show me.

Let me tell you something, Kaladhan. I'm happy you beat me. Happy! You know why? Let me tell you a story, a story about a kid, yeah, a kid. Kid, just like you. He was good, oh, he was good. Pretty full of himself, too. Nobody could beat him.

But they kept coming. They came from everywhere, miles around, just to beat him. And he took all comers, and he beat 'em back, every one. Pretty soon, just about anyone who ever put two Master Maze walls against one another took it on himself to come to this kid and try to outdo him.

And then one day...one day... this kid was checking the DF forums and there was someone calling him out... someone who was only five years old. Oh, he was cocky, and he was grinnin', but he was just a kid. Now this guy, he tried to get out of it, but it was pretty clear, there was no way this five year-old kid was gonna back down. So -- kapow! Out came the Grendel scenery. And -- bam! 10 cavern sets and 15 Dens of Evil and 27 river sets! And whap! Out came the painted Reapers! Biff! the OOP Ral Partha scenery! Kablammo! McFarlane dragons! Before that little toddler could even wipe the grin off his face -- CHUNG! Hirst Arst custom-made scenery fifty feet high!!!!!

Yeah, it's great to be on top of things. But that guy -- that guy was me. And that little kid, his bloodstained face is gonna haunt me for the rest of my days. In the dark of night, when I'm pretendin' I'm sleeping just so I can dream of peace and quiet, I still hear his tiny voice, fading. "Hey, mister..." it says... "where'd you get... that... awesome... lion statue. . .uhhhh... * "

So I'm glad you beat me, Kaladhan. And I hope you enjoy your victory... while you can. Cause they're gonna start comin', and they ain't gonna stop. And one day... one day you're gonna find yourself facing a little kid, just like I did. And that kid is gonna start haunting YOU....
