Well, they survived, but only just - lots of wounds taken, lots of injuries received, some serious doctoring needed really soon. Touch and go at one stage - really thought I'd overdone it with the opposition, but they won in the end. They've found one out of three clues thus far, and have failed to realise that it is a clue, let alone that they need more. They haven't even had the sense to think about it alongside things they already know from other places...

I think that, unless I drop some enormous hints, they're going to foul up bigtime here.

The set-up worked well - it was fun, and suitably atmospheric.

Medieval Buildings Set, Caverns x2, Cavernous Passages, Room and Passage, Deluxe Room, Octagonal Room, Narrow Passages, Advanced Builder, Wicked Additions I, Wicked Additions II, Traps I, Traps II, lots of individual pieces. I want Cavernous Rivers, and Cavernous Lakes, and Cavernous Ledges. Can you tell that I like caverns?

Phil;

I dunno about you, maybe your average level of gamer is higher than the ones I frequently get at conventions, but I almost ALWAYS have to give hints that there are clues about other stuff tucked neatly into corners and the like.

It can get downright depressing; what's a poor BEM to do, if he can't get the point across to his victims?

Sounds as if you've had a good game, so far.

See ya!

My lot usually pick up on the clues. Maybe they weren't concentrating properly because the fight so nearly went against them. I'll give it a wee while next session for them to do some thinking, and (hopefully) search around a little, and think about what they've seen. If that fails, I'll hve to start dropping hints. As you say, it's depressing. But the game is going generally well.

Cheers,
