Hi
I thought I would I would move this conversation out to where it belongs and I do realize this is not exactly the place for this and I appretiate your help.patience and tollerance.

As I said before in the ships post I am looking fo a gazillion Space ship minis of all sizes and shapes (Except Star trek) over the course of the next 4 months.
I am hosting a major space fleet battle on Boxing day and I will be assembling fleets of all types as well as painting them and distributing them to the players etc.

Any ideas and questions can be sent to me at

Thanx again and have a great weekend,

There is a new set of Star Wars ship miniatures coming out in a couple months that you may want to look into. It will have both fighters and capital ships (60 different ships in all).

Things I like about them:
1. They're pre-painted
2. They're sturdy plastic

A couple notes of warning though:
1. They will be sold in random packaging (though you'll likely see a lot of individual ships for sale on ebay)
2. The ships do not all use the same scale (fighters are 'oversized' to make them more visually interesting) - but from your post that may not matter...

Yeah, I do have to ask -- why not under "Gaming" instead of "Photos"? I'm a tad confused...

Anyway, I'd check ebay for Micromachines - not only did they make 60 something SW ships, many of which can probably be found easily in bulk for cheap, but they also made a bunch of other sci-fi ships, I believe. I'm not sure why the "no Trek" rule applies, but if you're flexible, they also made a ton of Trek stuff, some of which is somewhat obscure. (I mean, if you don't want the Enterprise or the more recognizeable Klingon ships or something, they also made things that could be used as generic SF stuff and doesn't scream "Trek!" to anyone who doesn't know it by heart)

Failing that, just hit toy stores and look in the Hot Wheels aisle, just look around, there are lots of small-scale sci-fi ships out there...

L

Oh, and you could probably get some stuff from Wizkids' Mechwarrior game now for REALLY cheap, and some of the hovercraft-type vehicles from that game would make GREAT starships....

Hi
Thanx that some good new.
Sorry I didn't know about the other posting site.

Yeah you guessed it I am trying to stay away from the Trek disc disease.I do love the old Tek but this battle is beyond what it could handle.
A star wars collectable game,hmmmmm.
A common star destroyer would be very cool.

Thanx again guys, I am off to the Strategicon.
I hope to post some pics from my trip.
Have a great weekend everybody,

jackevil -

IF you go after the Non-Federation and Non-Klingon ships, there are some very cool designs in the Star Fleet Battles universe of ships. Hydrans, Lyrans, and ISC have some particularly striking ships.
Also, check into the Babylon 5 collections, and the Full Thrust sets. They all are roughly the same size, and you don't HAVE to say they're to scale.
Ad Astra has some nice Manticore and Haven navy ships, but the thing about the ships in the Honor Harrington universe is that they all look like a spindle; long, cylindrical, with flattened ends, and weapons bays along both sides. Since the best description of the series has been "female Horatio Hornblower in space", this description of the ships fits well.

Expect to pay for ANY of this stuff, but then again, most of the good stuff is NOT cheap.

See ya!

If GZG does not have all of the pics up, I have all of the ones that Geo-Hex used when they were going GZG's figs here Stateside.

Babylon 5
Agents of Gaming is not in business still, but their spacecraft from this line are still really common on eBay and on-line hobby shops.
Mongoose Publishing is the current manufacturer, but the prices are outrageous.

The Miniatures Page has this list of spacecraft miniature games.
That might send you on the trail of other figures you might not have thought of.

Hope this all helps.
