Here is an example how a 'photos only' tile set could work.

It also demonstrates how some tiles, that are difficult to distinguish or even to catch at all, can be marked with some white description text shortcuts.
Here they are integrated with the flipimage function as secondary image (but with editing the set file one can easily make them the default). Similar description texts could be used on problematic wall tiles (arrow loop hole, probably secret door, etc.).

Note also that the sarcophagus is provided in a closed and open version, which can be changed with ...

you may already imagine it ...

Yes! ... with the flipimage function ;)

LoneStarr - thanks for testing the photo-only idea. That is a great use.
Okay - CRasterImage - here's something else for the software program. I'm not sure what the best way is to do what I want but let me throw out the general idea and people can comment on what is useful to them and perhaps you can figure out a way to make it work?

Using LoneStarr's photo-only example with reversable text, I'd like to see something like this:
I'd like to see an easy way to quickly switch between 1) All Images; 2) Images with Text for Players; 3) Images with Text for DMs (showing traps, additional passages, etc); 4) Images with Setup Notes.

Okay, how to go about these things? Options:
Text-On / Text-Off Mode.
Store multiple "sheets" like in Campaign Cartographer where the "DM sheet" could be hidden. When the DM sheet is revealed, it lays on top of the Player sheet, thereby showing the traps and secret passages, etc.
(this is one reason I'd like to see all this in CC3 (yes, they are releasing CC3 soon, hopefully this year!).
For those that aren't familiar with the software, check out www.profantasy.com.

In any case, I'd be willing to pay $ for a program such as this and the tile sets created.
If CRasterImage, LoneStarr, and Proving Ground Productions want to list PayPal accounts or something like that, when I DO start using this software (I haven't yet...kind of waiting for a more finalized version - great work thus far!), I'd be happy to make contributions. I'm very broke right now, but you all deserve some payback for your efforts, even if you hadn't been looking for any kickbacks other than having fun and helping fellow gamers.

LoneStarr, what do the "PE", "PI" and other abbreviations stand for? Also, what was the issue you were addressing by adding them?

weaverjk, I think I understand what you are saying. I will look into it and see if there is an easy way to implement that.

I'm with weaverjk on this one! You guys have put too much time and effort into this one to get nothing more than a "Thanks, guys. Now we'll go play with it!" for your product.

We gotta figure out SOME WAY to reimburse your efforts.

See ya!

Actually, I made my tiles last year, and it's already paid off. We do a couple of cons a year, and the effort it used to take for several people in different locations to collaborate and put together a setup was quite difficult.

It's quite easy now... I've got my money's worth if it was only for me. 8-)

The 'Pi', 'Pe', 'Up' and 'Lo' are the first two letters of Pillar, Pedestal, Upper and Lower stairs.
I only added the first two letters and made them some kind of big, so that they hopefully can still be identified when used in a larger map (and thus be scaled down a lot).
There were no issues while adding the text. I just used the Text function in the GIMP to create an appropriate Text and added it to the image. Since I just wanted them as alternative images I saved them as B-Versions.

I double the post from the 'How to use this stuff section' here, because of the split up thread:

Hello everyone,

I finished the first version of a Fantasy photo set for the Tile System (some tiles could need some futher processing and adjustments but overall they are already quite good).

And now the most interesting part:

I also prepared a website where everything can be downloaded from:

www.muinimula.de/Muini/de/2nd/tools/mastermaze/Mastermaze.html

Beside the Fantasy photo set you also find appropriate 'compilations' of the drawings from Proving Ground Productions for the Tile System (Fantasy, DoE & Cavern).
Everything comes with corresponding tile set definition files. Furthermore there are some tile set files that combine all three series or that create the 'flip between drawings and photos' sets.

If you don't want to download all the separate zips and put them together you can just choose the 'Ultimate' file.

In both cases you might also need the MFC libraries, if they are not yet on your system.

The next photo set will be the DoE (since I already took the shots yesterday), presumable available during the next week or at the next weekend.

And now have Fun and create maps that no one has thought of before! :)

You and pfworks are sooooo cool! Many, many thanks. I've just downloaded the Ultimate whole shebang, and I'm looking forward to trying it out.

I like the disclaimer about becoming addicted to Master Maze. I was hooked ten years ago, and the addiction has only grown stronger. I'm jonesing for Master Maze!

Where do you want the check sent? ;) That is, I'd be happy to chip in some (not a lot! I'm Broke!) money for all your hard work. Paypal is my friend. Okay, so perhaps DF boards shouldn't be used for profit. How about donations? Probably not solicitations. Which means, off-board e-mails. Okay. How about posting an e-mail address for contact for this sort of thing?

Same goes for CRasterImage and PGP.

Thank YOU for posting that page in English. That sure helps us uni-language, English-only Americans. I sure wish our educational system provided for early teaching of additional languages.

Hmm, instead of a check, how about some of us Sci-fi fans get them some of those sets!

The Photo tile set for DoE has been added to the download page:

www.muinimula.de/Muini/de/2nd/tools/mastermaze/Mastermaze.html

They are now also included in the 'Ultimate'-package zip file.

Have much more fun now! ;)

Oh, man if you put a "donation" link in your page, count me in to throw in some cash (not much), but I think it would be a fair cause...
