Hi everyone,

before I start with the next steps for preparing a presumably official Version 1.0 preview release of the tile set files and photos I want to ask for comments about the followinf proposed final naming for the tiles.
I adjusted them as much as possible to the official naming used on the product descritpions on the DF web page where possible (with some variations where they are inconsistent, not precise or to verbose).
Those names will be used in the drawings and photos tile set files then (like it was almost before), so that the two sets can be changed on the fly (when CRasterImage provides the fallback-to-standard-image-if-no-flip-image-is-available in Tile System), thus makinf the flipphotos sets obsolete.

It is very important to agree upon the names prior to creation of the V1.0 files, because they should never change again after that. Changing the names renders all prior created maps useless for use with the new tile set file (they would still work with the older tile set definition file, they were created with) or would create a lot of manual xml editing effort for fixing their .ts files.

So here come my name suggestions:

New version of the application ready:
members.cox.net/shawnriordan/TileSystem_20b.zip

List of changes:

- Add "Show Drawtime" command to View menu. (for my own curiosity)

- Add "Select All" command to Edit menu. (hotkey = Ctrl + A)

- Add "Deselect All" command to Edit menu. (hotkey = Ctrl + D)

- Fix bug where tiles that are in a "flipped" state dissapear when changing to a tileset that has no flipped version for that tile. If a tile is flipped, and you load a tileset that doesn't have a flip version, the tile would still soldier on, using the unflipped image. All the while remembering that it is flipped in case you change tilesets back to the one that supports flipping on that tile.

- change the zoom out limit to 1% instead of 10%.

- change the zoom in limit to 800% instead of 400%.

- when changing tilesets, first check and see if the new tileset will support the tiles currently in use. If not, then cancel the loading of the new tileset and stay with the existing tileset. Then display message informing that the tileset was not loaded and which tiles are missing in tileset you tried to load.

- Remove the error message on every missing tile when changing to a tileset that doesn't have that tile. Otherwise it takes forever to hit "Ok" button on potentially dozens of tiles. This shouldn't happen at all, when combined with the feature above this one.

- When doing a report, don't list tiles that are not used.

- When doing a report, add the width and height in drawgrid sizes.

- Do mouse tooltips in the main view, if the current tool is the edit tool.

- tooltip format changed from "sometile - 3 available of 10" to "sometile : 7 used of 10". Because "sometile - 993 available of 999" looks strange and requires too much mental math to figure out how many you used.

Cool new features ;)

I'll try out the new version asap.

As soon as I got some feedback on my naming suggestions and have the reshots for the shadow problem tiles I will start with the composintion of a MM Version 1.0 beta/preview release.
I think I will also add a short status notice on the web page then, that indicates how far I consider the progress of the project. I think after two or three beta/preview releases, we should already have a Version 1.0 ready, that includes proper names, can change between drawings and photos tile sets and have almost proper looking and fitting tile drawings and photos.

Oh man, really nice improvements!! I'm on it!!!

But... the names of the tiles have changed in the new tilesets..? oh... I've made a lot of maps that I'm editing already... that could be bad for me, because I have now my one tileset with my inventory number of pieces, even I've added The Mystic Blocks pieces I have (with pfworks drawings). Yesterday I was editing several maps.ts changing the name of the pieces to the actual ones... if they change again... well... I hope at least is the last time...

Thank you very much for the improvements!!! this has changed totally the way I use DF!!! a lot (you hear me?? a LOT better now!!!!!, thank to the photos and the program)

Hey, can we expect having some day the accesories like standing torches, barrels, stack, etc...?

Greetings!!!

62 sets and counting. In addition, a boatload of individual pieces or sets of pieces.

Well I think this one change of tile names is a good idea, in order to make them more convenient and consistent.
And as I said, after we agree on the names once and the Version 1.0 is finalized, they should never change again, without any really urgent and burning need. And I hope as the names are chosen now, those need should never be the case.
Furthermore there are a few typos in the current set files, that should also be corrected.

For your old maps you should just keep a copy of the old version in a separate directory, so you can still use it for them.
It should not be to hard to redo your personal customizations with V1.0 set files. Of course you have to enter the tile numbers again, but if you have them available e.g. from a report from the old version that should be done in several minutes.
Additional tiles you have added to the sets should be done with a simple copy and paste of the appropriate xml sections, and of course you have to make sure that the images are available.

Regarding the accessories I can say that I have them allready on my todo list.
I think beside the fact that the cavernous river & walls might jump the queue before, they will be the next sets that I will try to shoot after the stable Version 1.0 of the drawings and photo sets for Fantasy, DoE, Cavern & Sci-Fi (drawings for latter only) are available.

For the following names we should find some shorter variants. Despite they are very long currently they also break the report output from the TS:

Fantasy sarcophagus w. lid and cavity (2x4)

Fantasy long passage w. brick-sealed side passage

Fantasy L-shaped passage w. trap swinging right

Fantasy L-shaped passage w. trap swinging left

Cavern twisted corner conv. to cavernous passage

Cavern curved corner conv. to fantasy passage

Cavern twisted conv. to cavernous passage
