Here’s another idea that the Lucite risers could be used for.

I’ve always wanted to have the on-the-dock, and then fall in the water below-the-dock Sahuagin battle. The risers will allow for a cool transition between the two environments. Make sure you drink your potion of water breathing.

The submarine concept works well with the risers as well. They allow for a hovering effect.

One of the divers discovers a strange underwater cave opening…could this be the entrance to a lost world?

Or the disturbing of a serpents lair….

It appears that the seaside village holds an underground secret.

The old Sea Priest keeps a "pet" in his “cellar".

Strange for such a peaceful seaside town…But then again......

Periscope view of the village…

Again... the clear Lucite risers allow for some amazing views.

I love these risers. Georg (zoroaster100) and I are setting up a three level MM cavern next for our game on Sunday. I’ll post pics as soon as were finished with the crawl.

IO, That is simply excellent. Need to go visit a pet store/aquarium shop to get a sunken ship! Thanks for providing inspiration.

McFarland's dragon fits perfectly in there as well. So how often do you game to use these set-ups?

IO;

Multiple comments here; ignore at your own discretion!

1. I LOVE the name on the boat tied up at the dock; is she named for the ship in Blake's 7?
2. GREAT job on the Sci-Fi MM submarine; it is very Nautilus-ish (is that a word?).
3. Swimming sharks, etc. are fantastic.
4. McFarland's water dragon lurking in the cavern is wonderful.

And, most important of all;
5. YOU are one sick individual; ain't it GREAT???

Way to go man; and excellent creativity. You are continually expanding the functionality of MM, far beyond what most people would conceive in even their wildest fantasies.
Jeff and Stefan are right; we gotta get you to GenCon; Hell, at this rate, I'M going to have to go - and I've never been to one!

When and where is it?

Congrats, Big Guy!

Woo-hoo! It is strange how happy I am that you picked up that McF dragon, IO. You're the only one who could really make it work with a DF setup. We're all just amazed over here.

I love that massive wreck, where on earth did that come from? It looks ... I don't know, it looks like nothing I've ever seen. It looks at least partly scratch-built, converted, what have you. Where'd that gorgeous toy come from?

Did you buy those sunken ship aquarium decoration just for the photo op IO? *wink*

L, that's what they are. Ceramic or Resin aquarium decorations, check out a good pet store, with lots of stuff for fish and reptiles, for some great terrain!

Ok, now that I've picked my jaw up from the floor... Wait. There it goes again.

This is an awesome setup. It's pictures like these that make me want to sell my Camaro and blow all of the money on DF.

At the risk of getting told off... this is f'ing awesome. The only thing that would improve it, if I dare say so, is if you had bluish-green plexiglass to simulate the look of water.

How do the dowels hold up the plexi? Are they actually glued/welded in place? If not, do you ever worry about them crashing over?

Silly question but... since I've never looked for it at my local DIY store, would I be able to find sheets of plexi like yours at a Home Depot, Lowe's, or Menard's or would I have to get it from a glazier?

Is that a Lemax wharf set?

Are the rods holding up the plexi hollow or solid? Same as above--could I find these at a DIY?

What is the greenish film you have near the hidden cove? (Love that by the way--reminds me somewhat of the one I built two summers ago: www.purgatorio.com/gameroom/gamingtable/photos/table016.html )

Once again IO, you have proven yourself to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, manipulator of Master Maze.
I too, like Jim, may have to look at the finances seriously and see if GenCon Indy is in the cards for 2006.

A lot of the questions about the Lucite and the risers can be found under IO's post "Chutes and Ladders"...

As for the "water" piece next to the hidden cave, that is one of the Plastruct pieces that he's mentioned before in the Dam construction (also below). They can be found at most Railroad Hobby stores for about 7-10 bucks for a sheet about the size of a piece of paper...

JUST AWESOME!

I really hope you decide to join us at Gen Con Indy this year. It will be a special year for Dwarven Forge. We will have twice as big a booth as in past years. I am sure that Jeff is in touch with you on the subject...( He would probably also get you a VIP pass into his True Dungeon event as well, If you twisted his arm enough...)

Stefan.
