I really like your stuff, MLV -- in particular those ruins -- very cool stuff.

I think the use of tiles to fill in blank space is inventive, but I am still going to try to come up with something entirely enclosed. I would really like to see if anyone can come up with something like that. SO far, I can do it so long as I leave out the two short passages, like I said. I'll have to see if I can do it without that "cheat."

You may have the right idea, though -- that may be the best way to do it, and to get the most mileage out of a single box..

Law,

Thanks for the Comments, And I Agree that My Solutions May have a Little "Cheat" Quality to them, Both Because of the 2D Floor Tiles, and because In Places I Used DF (DoE) Floors to Fill Gaps turning Open Passage Ways into Dead Ends...

But I Did want to Show how to Get that Extra Mileage as You Said, plus I Have Spoken about this Process Before, but Have Not Posted Many Pics, so it Seemed a Good Chance to Cover Several Bases... Perhaps I Ought to Attempt the "Closed" Set up as Well...

Yea MLV,

Your ideas and veiws of how things might look is just GREAT! ;)

I don't have my DoE yet :( Had to order from the 2nd pre=order stage, but you have given me some really great ideas of what to do when my 1 DoE set comes in. :D Thanks.

I tried to take pics of the layouts I've done, but like you say they are either to dark, blurry or washed out with the flash! :(

Whitewind has been great at building up my ego since I send him my very BAD pics and his replys are always favorable. I've only been at this for about 1 month now. :P

Fizban,

Thanks, and as Far as the Photography Goes, For Me it is a Matter of Bad Lighting, and I Know this... I Have a Very Dark Apartment And it is Not Realistic to set up outside for Natural Lighting... Eventually I Will Buy my Wife a Good Portait Lighting Array, and then I'll be able to Take Better Pics... Right Now I Never Quite Know How they will turn out...<Chuckle>... But I also Need Practice, and What better Place than Here?

hold your horses young man - your set ups are excellent - i would love to join the contest (as i have some nice floors to use in the gaps) (i´ve seen/been inspired by that kind of usage long before but i can´t remenber who posted it). but i always have to organise a camera. so do i have till the end of the week to submit some pics?

by the way a printout of your doe ruins is pinned (kinda like babe of the week) to the wall in front of my desk...

oh, i see... i thought those were bits of linoleum, but it makes sense that they're 2d tiles. i'm always looking at hardware stores for cool little odds and ends that would suite the game... are those from the MK dungeon packs or are they WoTC?

i'd love to put up some pictures, but we missed the first shipment. plus the stuff's not at my place AND i don't have a digital camera. so basically i'm screwed. i'll give 'er a go if i get the oppurtunity with a R & P though...

dudebird,

Actually the 2D Tiles Were Created Using Dundjinni Mapping Software... There is a HUGE User Community that Produces Amazing Art Work even If You Do Not Own the Software... Though I Highly Encourage Folks to Check it out...

I cannot support Dunjinni in any way due to their wonky EULAs and ToSs.
But thats just me.

What kind of EULA and ToS does Dunjinni have? (I've only been able to look at that sample stuff people have put up and its pretty amazing...)

On that topic, does anyone know of Dwarven Forge "tiles" that have been created for Dunjinni? If so, I can export them to the mapping program I use...

Oh, and so this isn't a complete threadjack 8-), if there's no time limit, I'll get something up this long weekend to submit (supposing I can find my camera that is)...

When Dunjinni first came out, I read over there EULAs and whatnots. A few things really irked me.
1. When presenting a map you made with their stamps, you had to say they where theirs, and link them on pages.
2. You could not sell things made with their stamps.
and a few other things.

They cleaned it up a little, but that soured me enough to say Fusk Em. When I make the plunge into map making software, I'm going Campaign Cartographer. None of those weird restrictions. Heck, Im almost 100% certain GW uses the CC2Pro with default stamps :p
