I'm laying down a challenge to everyone who has bought a DoE Room & Passage set.

Design a layout using each and every piece from a single 'Den of Evil' Room and Passage set, and post your photos here. No extra DoE pieces can be used, and no pieces left out from the single set. You can 'dress' your creation with non-DF minis and accessories, but the only DF stuff used should come from a single DoE R&P set.

Good luck all!

I've KINDA been doing that -- I've left out, in almost every setup, the short passage pieces -- they can be useful, but they tend to get in the way -- you'll see, those of you who take up this challenge, how hard it can be to use them....

But this is a great idea -- I've been trying to help show people what can be done with just one set, I'd love to see what other people come up with...

Remember guys this is essentially a "Rooms & Passages" set so any of you have setup layouts for those and you're golden.

(Jeff! P L E A S E re-release those example setups you had on the old old 'site for the taking! Please!)

Ok Folks Here Goes, But First A Few Disclaimers:

I am Still trying to Figure out My Wifes Camera, and The Lighting Bites... So I Tried Not to Use the Flash as Much as Possible, but I Also Took A Few With the Flash and Used those where the Ones Without Flash were Blurry...

Although this Set Up Has No DF other than DoE there are a Few "Accessories" Thrown in For Good Measure...

I Guess I Sort of thought Of this Set up as an Abbey or Similar...

I May have Confused the Order But I Think the First Few are "Over Views"...

Next are the "Library"...

Then the Temple Room...

The Larder...

Then the Abbot's Office/Reception hall...

NOTE: I Attempted to Show how Even the Corridors/Passages Can be Used to Create Rooms by Placing a Printed Tile in the Negative Space, and Leaving a Gap as an Entry Point... This is Done With Both the Library and the Temple Room... The Bad Lighting Detracks from the Actual Detail of these Tiles, but I Guess You'll get the Proverbial "Picture"...

This is a Technique Which I Have used with My Fantasy Sets, and Will Eventually Do with my Sci-Fi as Well... It Definately Allows you to "Stretch" the Room and Passage Set a Little bit...

For Try #2 I'm Affraid Most of the Pics did Not Turn Out Very Well, but I THink You Will Get the Gist of the Layout... Which is Nothing More than a Random "Level" to "Something"...

With this Bunch I Did Not Put any Furnishings in Because I was Sort of Rushing it...

The First Two are An "Entry" Point of Some Sort, with a Would be Stairwell or Similar Leading into the Next "Level"... Un Fortunately None of these Came out Very Well, but Hopfully You Get the Idea...

Next are a Couple of "Overviews"... One With Flash and One Without...

And Finally a Couple of the Open "Double" Room Again With and Without Flash...

Setup #3 Is Some Sort of Crypt with a Tomb in it... Again the Battle Between Blurry No Flash and Washed Out Flash Comes Back to "Haunt me"...<Chuckle>...

First we Have a Couple of "Overviews" of Sorts...

Then Two Pictures of the Tomb itself, the First From the "Door" side (Which was Unfortunately the Best Shot I Got of that Facing... I Would Not Have Even Posted it, but Maybe You will be able to Make out the Old and Crunbling Look of the Door... The Second one Turned out pretty Good but was Of Course from the Rear of the Tomb structure...

The Next Three Show The Main "Entry Hall"... I Wanted to Show How a Printed Floor Can Expand the Versatility of the Set Significantly... Unfortunately the Lame Lighting Loses a lot of the nifty Details of my Art Work...<Snicker>...

And Last We Have a Couple of Shots of the "Entry" Point to the Tomb itself One From the "outside" and One from the Main Hall Side... I Really Liked the Way the Empty Door Way with a Diagonal Floor on Top Looked very "Tomb-ish"...

Setup #4 Is an Homage to Tom, IO, Ghengis Ska and Law, In Order that I Might Pay Tribute to their Great Achievements in Stacking DF... I Figured I Needed to Do Something 3D and Decided to Take Advantage of the Limited Pieces Available and Build Somthing I am Calling "The Ruined Gate of the Ancient Citadel"...

I Took a Ton of Pics of this, but Most Were Either Way Blurry or Really Washed Out...<Sigh>... Anyway, These are In No Particular Order... And Again Some are With Flash and Some Without, I Just tried to Post the Best of the Bunch...

DudeBird,

Thanks... What is 'lino'? And yes the Use of 2D map tiles and Textures to "Fill" in the Negative Space in the midst of the Corridors really adds a lot of "Room"...<Chuckle>... To the Design...

But I Was Hoping to See Others Post their Single DoE set ups here as Well... Also I am Surprised that there has Been No Comment on the Stuff I Posted Positive or Negative... Which I Have to Say it Must be God Awful to Be Completely disregarded by my Good Compatriots here...<Grin>... Though I Guess the Photography is Pretty Bad... But Seriously Folks I Can Take the Criticisim... And I Want to See what Others are Doing with Single Sets too...
