Fell Architects of Chaos and Doom,

Both Jeff and I have been incredibly impressed, amazed and overwhelmed by the quality and inventiveness of ALL these entries! I have had to restain myself from making comments as each entry was posted...WOW! what an incredible collection of folks we have here among us, thank you so much everyone who made the great effort of assembling and photographing their devious plans for all to see...

it's going to be a really, really, tough choice...

Please realize that we are all "winners" here and that this has been, in my mind, and especially, as a first contest, already a smashing success!

Outstanding!

Thank you all!

The winner will be announced later today. We would like to especially note these fantasic contributions.

Most original Design: GM McBride
Koolest/Best Lighting: Aubrey
Koolest Single Picture: Shoesan
Best thought-out/playable design: Ghenghis Ska

And again...this decision is going to be very tough. Thanks for making our job so tough -- and fun!

AND THE WINNER IS...

Stefan and I would like to thank everyone for their entries. Every entry had something cool in it -- and some excelled at different aspects like creativity, good game layout or photography.

In the end, Stefan decided to award a $100 gift certificate to the four people mentioned above.

GM McBride, Aubrey, Shoesan, Ghenghis Ska

We felt they all deserved the prize. We are also sending out $25 GFs to everyone else who entered. The GF will be in the form of unique coupon codes that can be used once to subtract a certain amount from your total. You don't have to spend anything over the amount of your GF. I will be emailing out the coupon codes Tuesday morning, and they will be good until the end of the year. Congrats to the winners!

We are making the Contest a quarterly thing now. We felt once a month was too much a drain on collector's time -- and we wanted everyone to have enough time to enter.

We thank everyone for participating and for leaving comments.

Congratulations to all 4 winners!!

I had fun just watching this contest from a distance! Great job with the layouts from all. Each one gave me great ideas for my own game layouts.

...now let's see if you guys can out-do your efforts in the next contest!

~Cheers

Wow! Cool! There really were a lot of sweet entires! I did not envy your task of picking winners. But you left out one bit of REALLY important news... what sets are for the next contest??? It makes sense to make it quarterly for sure, but even though its months off, I'd like to start playing with... ahem... I mean... designing with... the applicable sets as soon as possible! And if its something I don't have... well, that can be remedied as long as it is in stock!

I am sure everyone on these forums feels the way I do about these new contests... in a word... THANKS!

PS -- Hey Jeff, I'm curious as to "which" single picture was picked by you guys from Shoesan's entry. I loved shot #5 the best, but was curious if you picked out one of the layout angles he presented.

~Best regards

shoesan it's up already June 2007 Contest -- The Medieval Tavern/Inn, but it now ends at the end of August instead of just June.

Well thanks everyone on the kind words from before, and to Jeff and Stefan for giving everyone a prize.

I honestly thought i didn't stand a chance there were some really killer setups posted by others in here, I was sure it was going to go to some one else, Shadox, GM McBride, Harneloot , zoonat, Aubrey, L , shoesan 95svtcobra, mcwulf or Grimlok, basically anyone else there were some great things in the other set ups.

I just had fun making it.

I was so sure at lunch that i wasn't going to make the cut i was already starting to doodle on what i wanted to do for the MBS one... But with more time i can finally set up the Sci-Fi one i want to do with all of my freshly painted Daleks :D

Cool and congrats to the everyone.

This picture shows the "Magic Circle" from the T-shaped passage sort of floating beyond a doorway...it took me a while to make sense of just how he photographed it and then realized it was the angle and probably a zoom lens optical effect...it was really Kool and in keeping with the planar feel of the DOE stuff...the trail of fire thing is kool too...

I want to thank everyone again for submitting so many really unique and creative set-ups...
Every single entry had something kool or interesting about it, and so many things I had never really thought about doing before.
In the end we just couldn't decide on one firm runaway winner. Therefore, we picked 4 entries that seemed to stand out in our minds for the particular reasons stated.
I hope that others feel as I do, my feeling is that everyone was really a winner here. Even the people who didn't submit anything, because they obviously got to feast on so many great and unique ideas to stimulate their own home cooked game sessions....

Looking forward to the next designs!

Thank you all!
