Dear Thod,

I am really sorry. The Den of Evil is awesome! But I realize that is quite a lot extra over the cost to have to pay...
Perhaps I can suggest a trip to Gen Con in Indianapolis next year, the holy grail of Gaming conventions where we usually have some good deals going on, especially for those fanatic souls who buy multiples of everything new and find it hard to carry everything out with them...we usually cut them even better deals...

I know a plane ticket and hotel needs to be factored in...but it's a totally awesome experience which could include a walk through True Dungeon among all the other crazy stuff, costumed maidens, and hundreds of other really kool booths, plus Gaming with all the other fanatics of course! Once is a lifetime, every Gamer should make the trip to the Mecca of Gaming!

Anyway, just a friendly suggestion (from a fellow fanatic)

Stefan.

Hi

The good news - the DOE has reached the country. The bad one - customs wanted approx. $75 for tax and charges before releasing it (2 sets in total).

It really, really hurts to spend $200 on 2 DOE and spend $150 on delivery and customs. This extra money (or at least part of it) would better go to DF instead.

Therefore not happy yet

Thod

PS: Maybe I should have my next set delivered to France or Germany ??

GenCon - yes - I already considered this option. One day I will make the trip. Unfortunately with two kids (age 2 1/2 and nearly 5) responsible for I'm not sure when this will be. Until then I will continue to go to the Spielertage in Essen on a yearly basis. Missed it only once in the past 20+ years - actually being on business trip to the US. Luckily this always can be combined with a trip to my daughters Godmother - 40 km away - or my parents - 250 km away. And 4 hours from Calais (once I crossed the water) are also not too bad.

It is sad you no longer come to Essen - 4 years ago when I met you there you convinced me and wife to splash out on our wedding gift money and we started with a Cavern Set, a De Luxe room set and a Room and Passage Set. Since then the collection has increased considerably.

I completely understand that it makes no commercial sense at all for you to show up there. But it was more then sad that all you could get in Essen where 3 or 4 sets of SciFi - on sale - and a single Fantasy Starter Set. I picked it up for just 30 Euro - but the shop didn't know what it was about and just wanted to get rid of it - pretty sad.

I hope DF won't slowly die in Europe this way. I know - there will be some people left who will buy whatever - but I fear not many new people will start in the future.

Dear Thod,

I actually hope to expand to more stores in Europe. We are no longer with Gargoyle Games Dsitribution but Esdevium Distribution is now carrying some of our items. Perhaps If you ask your local store to give them a call in the UK...?

I really enjoyed Essen and the great German people I met there...perhaps one day in the future we can make it back even if we only break even. As we get more healthy we may decide to make the trip again.

Perhaps we shall meet again!

Stefan.

And the other way... Thank you and congratulations Stefan...!! Very good work!!!! truly nice and, I've got to say about fragility issue you have spoken... I already had droped for the first time a piece of Den of Evil... :-( one of the doors... I can say it has taken the hit without taking any damage. :-)

No luck with germany....
I have received a letter from my postoffice today, to collect the sets at the tax-office. This probably also means: paying tax... :-( I thought, the tax was already covered by the shipping cost (of 74$). VERY BAD. I also wonder about the germany tax-collectors: i have bought many times books and gaming accessories from US (of values ranging from 50$ to 200$ per package). Sometimes, the office wants tax, sometimes not...

Camoudragon: crossing my fingers, that you may have more luck...

your crossed fingers did help. doe is on my desk since yesterday and it´s a beauty beyond believe. they are more fragile but i really like the fine look when you have the "bird view" on a freshly build maze.

had to pay €20 taxes - i had to open the box and they asked me precisly what it is and after something like 5 minutes skipping lists and asking mor questions like if it is a solitary game i was free to go. had to work last night so i had not enough time for toying around but this much is clear: it is a perfect addition to the other mm stuff and i need a doe room set!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

now i keep all my fingers crossed for those of you who are still doeless - you deffinately have somethig to look foreward to!

OH, NO, Camo!

You only cross ONE SET of fingers for GOOD LUCK!!

Multiple sets only ROYALLY screws the recipient!

Anyway, I hope the EU gets their heads on straight and stops taxing the !@#$# out of personal purchases over the Web. Either that, or DF's Euro-distributor gets their stock in FAST and gives all of you a decent break.

Stefan, I don't remember if I gave you the required strokes or not, but here they are;

The Den of Evil set is undoubtedly the finest-sculpted set you have produced to date; not even the Sci-Fi or the various figure sets are this detailed.
I was not going to work the Game Room at Shore Leave 28 next year (July 2006), but now, I may have to run a game JUST TO SHOW THIS STUFF OFF!!! I won't even care if I don't kill off a single character - or even scare the bejabbers out of them! This set NEEDS, BEGS, CRIES OUT to be bragged about - in public!! With DROOLING, even!

Uh, in case I wasn't clear enough; Den of Evil is MUSEUM-LEVEL ARTWORK, Stefan.

Ya done GOOD.

See ya later!

I got the message from the local custom office this week that the package has arrived there. I only need to bring the invoice for custom fee calculation, pay those stupid fees and pick it up, hooray...

Now, where do I get an invoice from... =6^)

Well, they always accepted a copy from the credit card account statement, so that will have to do for another time.

bye
