It is of coarse not my business " or yours really" to go looking for all the answers to someone elses business, at least out of respect that is. KISS.... Wait...... SKA, please let me second a spell checker. Had to do an edit and not yet another post.

Well, I tend to agree, but Jeff did say it was kosher so long as we were respectful.

There's a line, I think, between "Maybe DF should try this" and "The people who run DF are being idiots for not trying this"

As long as we remain polite, open-minded, respectful, and considerate, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with making suggestions about how to help DF succeed.

But I understand your reservations -- we don't know everything that goes on behind the scenes, we don't know the details of why Jeff and Stefan and others have reached a certain decision, so it can be kinda annoying back seat driving or Monday morning quarterbacking if we start peanut-gallerying our opinions at them.

L
too... many.... metaphors.. . .aaaargh!

Yeah, just a little respect is called for here yes. I know I don't know or will maybe never know as much as the busness end of the forum here. I help DF by getting the stuff I can afford, sharing pics and showing any friends that are into gaming that might be interested. If we are going to put a good example forth lets do that. I also understand that folks have a diff opinion on what is good behavior and a good example. Please people understand that I am only bringing this up cause that is the way I feel and am in a sense trying in my way to help the Forge by putting my two cents into the mix. Quite honestly your the only ones I know that have DF.

Spotlight DF MM in every game you do with folks whitewind.
That should get at least some interest going and the wallets, poket books, etc. open just a bit.
That way you will not be the only one in your neck of the woods that has DF MM.
Honestly, each time you play with folks that you do NOT use DF MM, this tells them it is not as useful as it really is.

BTW, are you sure that you are the only one?
That seems to be a bit unlikely.
DF MM has been fairly popular among gamers in Texas.

BTW, which Magnolia, Texas are you in whitewind?
Montgomery County or San Jacinto County?
It is a bit on the odd side that two towns of the same name are so close to each other.
Maybe it is a Houston-area thing.

Kind of inbetween games right now. I live fairly far away from them so they never come of this way and my work puts me every other weekend required to work. On those days I am 12 hour shits so would be diff " at my age and weight " to do a late night D&D or d20 modern and get back to work the next day. I live in the Montgomery County Magnolia, real close to the Texas Ren Fest. I have show them the DF stuff at diff time when I was playing and here are their responces to why they don't want to play with it. They use mini's " mostly painted lead, Reaper, Ral Partha and such" to represent the character. Then they have a large battle mat like the ones we all know and love. They will use water soluble pens to trace out a room cavern or other setting. Lastly the use of color glass beads with numbers on the bottom or even those 1" square " tiles " with a number in permanant ink right on the top to represent monsters, this they will add one or two " depending on the size of the fight " a big mini that has been painted or pulled form a box to be the Boss figure.... Very effitcint yes but I tell them maybe we could use the stuff for maybe one or two encounters per night as a " Special area ". It angers me somewhat when they say no it'll just take too much time......Errrrrrr. Maybe thats why to don't take the time to play overthere any more...LOL....OK OK this is way off topic. but at least one comment here ON TOPIC. yeah an area like a kiddy pool is nice and then a deeper area for.......Sharks???? LOL..

Look, I don't know why but this reminded me of one thing I have been wanting for the boards. Larger Avatars. I have seen at least one member with a larger one than most. LOL....Avatar Envy?

Larger would be much better!
I could put the original pic in rather than the detail-lost one I have.
