6" wall news is great.
I just hope there is a fair number of furnishings in Beta or a quick follow-up furnishing only Gamma set.
Actually, I personally would prefer a structure-only Beta with a quick furnishings-only Gamma set.
This way we would get most of the WA items we need for SF MM and we would get a more serious amount of furnishings with the Gamma release.

6" Walls would be Awesome... In Fact I Would Love to See some 4" walls as well... My Most Useful Mystic Blocks I have Purchased are the 4" wall sections... (Because they do not Yet Exist from DF)...

4" walls would be cool, but I would have the concern about precedent here MLV.
If we get them for SF MM, that will cause howling over on the Fantasy side of DF.
They already have ~7 year head start, but, of course, they still want more.
Most Fantasy folks show at least some, but only some, understanding about our need for the items in SF MM that they already have for Fantasy MM plus for some furnishings since the Fantasy folks already have some.
We start asking for items like the 4" walls, that will be rocking the balance (as some of the Fantasy-only folks look at it) too much by asking for things they do not have.
I do not need any more "nasty" e-Mails from the Fantasy-focused folks MLV and I do not think you will enjoy them any more that I have.
I have had Fantasy folks tell me that we SF gamers are ruining DF because of the waste of DF's money on SF MM.
I have not bothered even to respond to them; I just derez them.
Personally, I have wanted a SF version of MM ever since I first saw Fantasy MM displayed at Gen-Con '97.
Oh well, life is just that way.
MLV, the 4" walls would be useful, but I am not sure the "cost" would be worth it.

LOL.... You have touched on something I was only giving passing thoughts on. There really has been a kinda division of Fantasy and Sci-Fi members. I am shocked to hear you have actually got emails over it though. They need to do as I have " GET IT ALLLLLLL  " then you won't be disapointed in what comes out. Only BROKE...!!!! 4" walls would be welcome on this end. I would even go so far as to say a 4" set like Willypold has started and maybe has worked on somemore. Sci-Fi and Fantasy of coarse. It is obviously already in Cavern. DOE they " in my opion " should leave alone after the WA set they are wanting to put out in March. Just should be treated as a rare treat and then get on with the main sets that people want to expand on. Even though they " DF " seem to be in High Gear lately I don't want them burned out.....

A set that allows for easier building of multi-layer dungeons would be cool. Maybe the seeling point of the set coould be to teach you the right way to work multiple level into your set ups. (I'm still owrking on doing this but I tend to have a hard time doing it.) Also in addition to this it would be cool to have stairways or overlaping elements to go from level to level like a small waterfall or something like that. I think the "evil" decorations sets would be a great idea. I was wondering if you have considered making a stand alone piece like the ogre den to go with the Den of Evil. A terribly wicked looked room where a bad nasty mastermind would be hidhing out. Also, being a fan of gothic horror, maybe a "evil genius lab" that has classic elements from Frankenstien's monster with a dissecting table and wonderful stuff like that. I'd definately be interested in seeing "interior design" sets that would allow you to make taverns or guild halls.

Hi Guys!

I gotta go with MLV and the Fox on this one. SF needs all the support it can get, although to be honest, unless Fox is pointing the Rabid Finger at me, I really don't know who has been dissing him here about Fantasy vs. SF. I rag on him a bit, but I thought he knew I was just baiting him!

Anyway, yeah, Fox, you and MLV called it right about those 6" vs. 4" walls. As I see it, we can always buy 6" and cut 'em down to 4" if necessary (stop BEATING ON ME, MLV!!!). Especially if Jeff can find a way to economically (for DF, not us; they're already relatively inexpensive, for what they give us) carry individual pieces like walls and floors. Also especially, large or long floors and walls (HINT, HINT!!).

Dumping the furniture/consoles/etc. into a Gamma set with a release concurrent with a WA/AB Beta set for the Sci-Fi line is another GREAT IDEA, Jeff!

In fact, Jeff, I'd bet that if you ran a survey here on the Forum of what we MOST want to buy RIGHT NOW, you could get enough pre-pre-orders to fill TWO CONTAINERS from PRC and sell EveryThing in them before they get here! Or anyway, enough pre-sold that you could afford to order them.
Let me see; I need large SF Floors (with and without lift-outs), 6" SF walls, MINIMUM 4 Betas w/curved walls, etc., MIMIMUM 2 SF Gammas (furniture, etc.) the DoE WA set (1 or 2, depending on what exactly is IN it), Cavernous River, Cavernous Lake, 2 more Cav Passages to fill out the cavern layout, extra SF columns, the Grand Staircase (if it gets done).
Well, you get the picture. AND, Spring is THE BEST TIME for this, because that's when the Tax Man gives me my money back (too bad HE doesn't pay interest on the loan I give HIM!).

I don't want to sound TOO MUCH like I'm NAGGING you, Jeff, but...well, YES, I AM nagging you, now that I think about it.

Any way, Jeff, Stefan, MLV, Fox, Parepidemos, Whitewind, L, G-Ska -- ALL of you here;

Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Kwanzaa, Ramadan was last month (I think) but a belated one there, and to ALL OF MY WONDERFUL FELLOW LUNATICS -
Happy New Year!

Season Greetings to all from me as well no matter what persuasion your outlook is.

No JK, you are not the one sending the less than kind messages.
The nice thing about that is that since I went public about them, the number I receive has dropped off dramatically.
I cannot say the tone in them has gotten any better or even stayed the same though.

Actually JK, you are usually a hoot even when we disagree.

As far as your wish list for Stefan & Jeff, it looks good JK.
You are right that cutting down 6" walls to 4" would probably be the easiest way to go to get 4" walls.

As far as Gamma is concerned, especially the big Gamma I have been recommending in other posts here, I am just hoping that we will be able to get it in 2006.
Concurrent with Beta is just asking way more than Dwarven Forge is able to do.

I would also like a Narrow Passage set soon.
Narrow passages have a lot of utility in Science Fiction.

I like the pre-order special on Beta Jeff.
I just wish there was a pre-order special for Beta that involved extra doorframes and doors - a Special #2.
A major suggestion Jeff - please order lots of extra SF pieces in the next carton - especially large floors and Sci-Fi doorframes and doors.
A Sci-Fi Master Maze door deal will be a much hotter seller than the Fantasy one you have going.
I would really like to see individual Sci-Fi Master Maze pieces soon.

As far as gaming purchases, especially Master Maze, spring is a good time for me as well for the same reason JK posted.

I would like to see a lava cavern set! Lava flows on the floor cooling lava crusted with black oxidized rock ect. Something perfect for a fire dragon lair. I see this being similar to the cavernous lake/river sets but with a fire theme! Thanks

Yukon stated "How about evil sewers? Gothic flooded passageways and room pieces that bring to mind the sewers of Phantom of the Opera, only more twisted and otherworldly!"

I agree that I think that sewer passageways with removable tops woud be cool. That way you could have curved archway ceilings. Hey! what about having the removable top with a cobblestone walkway toping it off. So you could have these sewer passages as part of a city where you pull off the roadway to reveal the sewers under the city scape. That would be perfect to tie your cavern sets into sewers which could then attach to future city sets like your tavern set. Walk out of the tavern into the street enter that sewer grate on the cobblestone street, then lift off the street to see your rpg going in the sewers. You could then trace the sewers to ancient underground caverns ;-) or to dens of evil ;-) ha ha!

(You might need some cheap spacers to prop up the city sets to one level above the sewer sets, but that shouldn't be much of a problem. Think of the cool tavern cellar expansion you could have!(secret passage way into the sewers anyone?)

Ladders, traps & corridors with dead ends are things we need for the DOE sets.

We could also use some ladders and more dead ends in Fantasy Dungeon.

I'd specifically like to see dead ends that end in stairs, going up and down, to mark the entrances and exits to the level the party is on.
