The Den of Evil Room and Passage Set has received a nice response from our collectors, so we are going to start immediately on expansion of the DOE line. I wanted to get some feedback from our loyal fans as to what pieces they want to see next. We will take the info and then start to work on another set.

A Wicked Additions type set?

A Curved Walls/Corners set?

Some new idea?

Please let us know your thoughts. We are striving to make sure the DOE is as cool and useful as possible. Thanks.

OOooohhh....

Well, I have a general request first, and then some specific suggestions.

General Request: The expansion should include specific accessories to work with the original set, and a minimum of "basic" building elements. In other words, curved walls, long walls, etc. should be left out. The first set lets us make some nice rooms, but I'd rather populate them with specific nastiness than make the same room but with a curved wall. You know?

So - for the general request, no basic building elements, or at least a bare minimum of them. Much rather have stuff to put IN what we make with set 1, than stuff to make the setups slightly different, but still empty...

Specific Suggestions:

1. You know that wizard study some of us have been asking for? Now'd be a great time. An altar, some wall-mounted bookshelves, or mirrors, or arcane inscriptions....

2. Evil fountain! Evil fountain! The DoE needs the evil counterpart to that sweet little mermaid.

3. Big staircase. Something more palatial, more grand than anything we've seen so far. Doesn't matter to me if it's part of a wall, a standalone piece like the stairs/ramp that fantasy and sci-fi have already, or a variant on the spiral staircase piece -- just something BIG and ORNATE.

4. The opposite of the chasm rift from Fantasy Floors -- a 2x3 RAISED piece, with stairs leading up. The top can either be flat, or have an altar on it, or have a pit. But some kind of elevated piece would be cool.

That's all I can think of for now. Other people, I'm sure, have more suggestions than I can come up with... prepare to be swamped...

Well I don't think many will see this as a shock...

Sci-Fi BETA!!!!!!!!!!

But on to your request for DoE

Looking over what exists for the Fantasy as compaired to Wicked Addations, or the Advaned builders sets i came to realize something Sci Fi Alpha is pretty much the equivilant to Wicked Additions (big floor bits, collumns, ramps etc, just never realized it, don't have and of the fantasy, just caverns and Sci-fi)

Wicked Additions by far over the Advanced, some thing like the Deluxe rooms set could work as well. But yeah i mirror the desire to have things IN the rooms, be they part of the walls as with the Deluxe (the torches as part of the walls), or stand alone items like an altar, gargoyle collumns (like some one else mentioned in another thread) or the like.

But Beta please as well...

DoE expansion - I would like to see accessories to put in the Den of Evil such as alters, gran stair cases, raised dais, drop in wizards/priests accountrements, torture devices, pillars etc. I would like to see it as either a accessories or accessories/wicked additions combo. OH, and traps too!

Yeah, there definitely needs to be an Altar of Evil as the center piece of the DOE. And yes, Evil Stairs.

and how about...

5. A large Evil throne.

6. A book stand with an evil looking "Necronomicon" type book on it.

7. A wall with a space for a mural/picture on it, and a slot on the top so we could slip in whatever artwork we felt was appropriate. (Scenes of torture, a mirror, strange symbols, portrait of the BBEG)

8. A large stone "artifact" covered with alien markings and bizarre gemstones, etc. The kind of thing no sane person would be messing around with.

9. (As I said in another thread,) pillars that match the horned gargoyle figures on either side of the doors.

We'll need another set of traps, since the existing trap sets wouldn't match the DOE all too well.

DoE 'Wicked Additions' must surely be called 'Evil Extras'!

I'd like to see the following:

1) A set of pillars matching the gargoyle design on the walls.
2) A big, evil statue (think AD&D 1st Ed PHB, in the style of the DoE gargoyles).
3) I definitely like L's idea of an 'evil fountain', but maybe free standing on a floor piece, like the lava fountain in the floor set (The Fountain of Blood!).
4) An evil-looking sarcophagus.
5) An altar with the same 'Cthulhoid' tentacle design, obviously blood-stained!
6) A couple of long 6" wall pieces
7) A 6"x6" or 4"x6" floor piece with a matching design.
8) A long corridor or 2
9) A set of stairs
10) A pair of braziers/incense burners

Is that enough to fill a box?

A Wicked Additions set, definitely. However, I'd like to see the pieces in this set be unique, and not DoE retreads of what's come before.

Here's what leaps to mind:

Long walls with weird murals and bas-relief sculptures of tentacle-nasties
Stone altars with gouges and stains from many sacrifices
Stand-alone spiral stairs that can be placed in the middle of a room

And finally, something that hasn't been done before: A way to get into the place. I'm talking about more than just a standard door or portculis. I mean a big, ornate entrance that just screams "Enter here to give evil beasties a tune-up!"

(Now I'm really glad I placed that second order. With a few more sets, this will be an incredible product line!)

I think a mix of what your have done before for the fantasy line might be the best way, and if it works you would continue along adding a new element from each category. Let me 'splain lucy.

Evil Accessories 1
Room/Dungeon Building- 4 round room pieces
Trap- 1 big trap
Special wall piece- Evil Fountain
Floor Piece- A 4 X 4 altar
Set of Stairs
Evil Treasure piece- Chest
Evil Room Furniture- Throne

Then for Evil set 2

Room/Dungeon Building- 6 inch passage
Trap- 2 small traps
Special Wall piece- Large entrance
Floor Piece- Undead rising out of the floor
Magical elevator!!
Treasure- Pile of Jewelry
Room Furniture- Gothic Ornate Bed

Evil set 3... god willing... it goes on
The above could use some tweaking I am sure, and my logic is that the DoE would become richer in several ways at once as each set is introduced, not just traps one time, and floor pieces the next.

Just a thought

Oh...and I was focused on fantasy, maybe have a sci-fi/alien specific element also in every box.

For the DoE expansion(s) I'd love to see:

1.) A "revolving" wall -- not just a small door like in the Fantasy set but a 4-square wall section that pivots on its center. It should be ornately carved to match the other walls--or perhaps it could be a bookcase(?)

2.) A simple, but very wicked looking raised altar. The altar could be on a dais or not but should be simple in its design because it holds a more sinister purpose than it would appear to.

3.) A 6" long, ornately carved corridor ("U" shaped) with holes in the wall every so often. The holes would be for arrow traps, asps, darts, spears, etc. You could even include half-dozen long spears to push through the holes. The holes would follow a saw-tooth pattern so adventurers would have to alternate between ducking and jumping to avoid the spears.

4.) Stand-alone Gargoyle pillars to match the ones on the walls.

5.) A longish wall section with an evil looking mirror on it (you could use some relatively inexpensive sticky silver tape inside of a simple gold gilt frame.

6.) Some sort of water feature--a stand-alone fountain or fountain attached to a wall (like the Mermaid fountain but more sinister). Make the "water" a cool eerie green color--almost as if it were phosphorescent--or like Absynthe.

7.) A grand staircase or two. I agree with the other posters on this piece.

8.) More corners for rooms--lots of corners.

I'll chime in on the side of those looking for more things to put 'in' the rooms rather than make more rooms or make them slightly differently (curved walls). While I don't deny that I would like to pick things like that up at some point, I'd like more variety on the interiors first!
I'd especially like it if some of the items won't look completely out of place in the normal fantasy sets (meaning not attached to floors or walls most likely).

Evil altar

Evil fountain (standalone)

Tome of knowledge (evil knowledge)

Free-standing bookcase (with evil books!) preferably 2 so they can be
back-to-back in the middle of an evil room

Throne (of evil)

Pillars of evil gargoyles

Evil Sci-Fi Beta

Grand Evil Staircase

Summoning circle with some evil tentacle thing coming up out of it

Traps I'm not so interested in... it's just my personal preference I know, but I picture the DOE as a place that's so evil it doesn't need mundane traps.

Treasure I'm also not so interested in... how do you make treasure look evil?

The entryway is a nifty idea... but something I'd prefer to buy standalone as I can't see needing more than one of those (whereas I can imagine getting use out of multiple copies of other pieces)

as the others have posted:

DOE Additions Set-
evil staircase of some sort
evil altar
evil columns
evil fountain
DOE advanced builder type pieces
evil alcoves

Smaller sets a la "Fantasy Set" but DOE-
some straight walls
floor pieces
corners
one small corridor
angle and curved pieces... just a couple of each
some doors

7. A wall with a space for a mural/picture on it, and a slot on the top so we could slip in whatever artwork we felt was appropriate. (Scenes of torture, a mirror, strange symbols, portrait of the BBEG)

That is a cool idea!

On top of all this - a DOE Floor Set with comparable goodies like in the original floor set.
