Making a Excel shet to track Tiles with a pic why 8 Years, 9 Months ago
I am starting a Excel sheet to track the tiles we have, I do plan to post after i am done.

I do need a little help, is there a way I can get pictures (like the ones you use on the store) of each tile by it self and maybe each of the add-on peaces. Something you can zip and e-mail to me or put on the site for me to download?

Thanks for making a great product

I hope i am not out of line by posting my pic in this group, if it is i will be glade to move it.

Hi Click

Something I did (albeit not for all pieces) was to start with the pictures in the shop. I downloaded them and combined 2-3 of them to make small labels for my storage boxes.

This wouldn't be complete - but it should be a start. I would ask first if you want to redistribute - but I guess such an Excel sheet would just be helpful so can't see anyone objecting.

Will see if I get the time to make a picture of my boxes and what I did there.

One box containing all floor pieces and the stairs has a floor piece and a stair on them. One box has all the corners and round corners etc.

Such a sheet would be useful to me to align what is where. The cavern set is really awkward to store/fit and after the game the right pieces need to go into the 4 different boxes to fit properly.

My plan is to make it so everyone can use it.

and I think it would go comthing like this: Picture, part name, qty, size, total size (qty X Size) and the last colum would be a place for you to write in where the peace is stored ie: Box "A"

are alll of the pic still on the store, even the sets they stoped using? how about peaces that only come in sets, i would need to get them as single pictures

If anyone has more ideas i would beglade to add it to the list.

Click, MyLord

I'm not sure it works that simple with a column from which set this piece is. Some pieces are from different sets. But I think this is a good idea to be expanced. Have three columns. Total pieces, individual pieces, pieces from sets. Only the second column is a number - the total and the pieces from sets are formula.

On an additional sheet you have the number of sets you own. You buy a new set - add a number here. The pieces of sets will be linked by formula to this sheet and therefore automatically update.

This would keeping track / filling out the sheet a lot more user friendly. Having lost a piece (beware !!) or made a custum piece out of it - enter negative values in the individual column.

Click: In regard to the photos - NO - the order pages will contain currently only a fraction of what is available. But my suggestion would be - go to the pages and use them as a start.

With this build a first spreadsheet. Post in in the How to use section as an ongoing project. I'm happy to chime in at that stage and add some bits - time permitting. I also left my e-mail as a private message with you.

Guys,

I'm a database specialist for my State government  , and I gotta tell you, this sounds like a prime candidate for an Access spreadsheet!
You've inspired me; now I have to go build it!
Access can store PICs as well as text, numbers, etc.; and I "just happen " to own a digital camera - a nice 4.1 megapixel Sony!!
Hee  Hee  Hee  :!:

Check with me later. I may be able to get it running and post it as a Zip file when it works. :P

I TOLD all of you I'm The Mad Yank!

I have to ask you a few questions jkratzer.

1) Do you live in the city or county? If city, what sector? (e.g. Essex, Violetteville) If county, where? I had quarters in Catonsville for about two years in the mid-90s so I know the area a fair bit.

2) Is Shore Leave new since then? I never heard of it when I was posted there in the Baltimore area. At the time, if I played at a store, it was at The Armory's showroom/store.
