Well I for one hope you nice folks at DF manage it..

Have you tried checking with UPS and their small business accounts, or even Amtrak.

I dont mind paying airfair trades if they arnt too silly.. at present DF stocks in the UK seem to be nill.. hoping this doesnt last..

Actually - I was pretty surprised to see more or less a complete selection of all sets on E-Bay UK !! today. I bough from this place before. Wouldn't recommend outside UK but inside UK they are fine.

Nothing I'm interested in. The Cavern Set has reached the area where it is the recommended US price - and I have both WIcked Additions sets alreade as well as enough rooms, diagonal pieces etc.

But have a look. Who knows - looks to me more or less they sell all they still have in stock. The sets they have are out of stock for a while at the DF site itself (at least most of them).

Hey Ninthgoose, I must have missed something.
How is Amtrak going to get anything to Europe or other non-central North American destinations?
The "Amtrak" I know is the trade name for the National Railroad Passenger Corporation that has been around since 1 May 1971?
Amtrak, as I know it, is a train company that provides passenger service across America and at five points, mostly in the East, into Canada.
There is not even Amtrak service to all of the U.S.A.; the continental US states of Wyoming and South Dakota do not have Amtrak trainservice, let alone the states of Alaska or Hawaii.
This is the Amtrak I know; so what is Amtrak you are speaking of?

BTW, where is North Wales are you from Ninthgoose?
My mother's family is from Ynys Môn and Caergybi and then in the Northwest around Bangor, Caernarfon and Llanaelhaiarn and inland a bit from those.

Sometimes there is a world outside the US ;)

Try www.amtrak.com and indeed - you will arrive at a train provider.

Try www.amtrak.co.uk and you will end up at a parcel delivery specialist.

Actually, I must have missed that link the last Google-US search around.
I redid the search and, lo and behold, I saw the link there this time.
Granted the other 19 of the first two frames were all on America's Amtrak though, but I must have missed the link the first time to the UK reference.
Sorry about the miss.

Has anyone ordered direct to the UK?

Can they give me an idea of postage costs, were there any customs charges?

Thanks

Not sure you will like the answer - $72.75 for two sets of Den of Evil. Off course - these are pretty heavy - smaller sets should be less.

As DOE hasn't shipped yet I can't tell about potential Tax charges. I have a second order which I wait to be processed any time (well - expected it to be done yesterday). I will update you.

Hmmn, $72.75 is a little steep but I accept packages will be heavy.

Seems like it would be more economical to buy within the UK.

Can anyone recommend a UK based company? (with stock)

I would still be interested in knowing whether you are charged any customs duty.

Thanks

Avon, I do not believe any UK company will be selling it.
It is a LE set that is sold direct by DF.
Sorry.

Rabidfox,

Sorry.. I was talking generally about all sets not just Den of Evil.

Any recommendations for purchasing within UK?
