TOPIC: Email Notification Error?

Email Notification Error? 9 Months ago
So I got an email today saying the Cavernous River and Walls set was finally back in stock. This was about six hours ago while I was still at work.
I finally get home, follow the link to the DF site excited to finally buy something (since most stuff is out of stock these days), and the page it leads me to says it is out of stock again!
Very disappointed.
Did the set really sell out in six hours? Did you guys underestimate demand by that much? Or was there some kind of mistake?
I have bought my fair share of DF product (including backing the Kickstarter) in the past couple years and am frustrated that I can't buy sets that are seemingly always out of stock. I've learned that sets rarely hang out for weeks and weeks, but six hours? Come on, guys!

I didn't get that memo.

Could you copy the e-mail into a post?

I got the e-mail. I didn't believe it. I followed the link, it looked like you could order, but I still didn't believe it. Later on, the page reverted to "out of stock". Since I didn't believe it in the first place, I interpreted that to mean that the item was never back in stock, as opposed to sold out in a few hours. I've just been waiting for a topic to show up here on the forum.

Stefan already told us what to expect in terms of restocking, and when. His list did not include this set, and the expected delivery is still months away. Is there really any question that this e-mail was not an intended announcement?

I got mine too and immediately checked. "Ask a question" was there and "out of stock" was there.

Rinse, repeat every 30 minutes from that time until midnight. Pretty sad when you are begging to throw money at a company but they go for over half a year without product.

Here's hoping the upcoming Kickstarter is as awesome as the first!

I'm sorry if you got a false message - as that is what it seems to be. Let me please explain how they get generated.

Your e-mail get saved when you hit the button - please notify me.

From that point it can be 'dangerous' as admin to do any changes to an out-of-stock product. I once triggered some notifications in error before I was aware I was sending them out.

So it was likely just some website maintenance.

I was one of the people who received the e-mail notification.

Just to be safe, I've gone though the "notify me" process again,
though, as the "one-time message" may have just been used up.

Was it necessary for me to do so?
