Do these come prepainted? Also one of my favorite df pieces is without a doubt my ogres den. I just wish I had the box.

Sir William,

It's definitely a collectors piece and you pay a premium for that, but I'm very happy I finally snagged one. Being a single piece it's obviously not as modular as basic dungeon pieces. On the other hand, I like being able to drop a complete and fully furnished room into a setup. Not sure if they're any better than what you've seen on ebay, but below are a couple pics of the Ogre's Den in a setup I did. The table and mirror in second pic are not part of Ogre's Den, but all the other room finishings, including the treasure pile, should be included.

If you can get one for $80 I think that's a good price. I bid on three in the $80 range and was outbid . I finally decided I really wanted this item and ended up paying about $100. I'm happy with what I got at that price.

Sorry to derail the thread... Feymous, is the mirror a separate piece? If so can you let me know where you sourced it from? I love tiny detailed accessories like that, they are one of the biggest keys to making setups "pop" in my mind.

My players rue the day I bought "Dragon Mountain". Ever since they give every creature a bit more respect. You never know when the GM will decide that this group is crafty...

If you really want an Ogre's Den be patient. It took me two years and many tries to get one for a price I was willing to pay. In the end I got one near mint, for $87.00 including shipping. It is a cool piece and worth adding to your collection.

Keebler
Do your giant items sets come pre-painted. I don't paint and really like the look of your paint job.

I finally got a hold of a ogre's den 3-4 years ago. I traded for it. I traded a cavern lake set. At the time I regretted the high price but since then I was able to replace my cavern lake set with 4 more. :-) now I think back and it was well worth it. It is a great collector's item.

Totally agree about detailed accessories :) I found the mirror in the jewelry section of Michael's Crafts. Many of the small trinkets intended for charm bracelets and necklace pendants work well for dungeon decorations. So far I've found mirrors, picture frames, clocks, and heraldry.

Thanks for the reply Feymous! So far I have not had luck finding anything remotely the right scale that I liked the look of at my local Michael's, but I will keep looking. I did score a Woodland Scenics summer grass vinyl mat that is about 2'x3' for 5 bucks with a coupon this weekend though. They are also marking down the Lemax Halloween sets, which do have some nice trees and a few tombstones that can work.
