TOPIC: Will there be a thin layer of Felt on the KS Tiles

Will there be a thin layer of Felt on the KS Tiles 1 Year, 5 Months ago
The title says it all, the master maze series has a thin layer of felt on the bottom. Will the KS tiles have that same thin layer? If not does anybody have a link to where we should be getting some from and maybe tips on applying it?

Thanks =)

I do not recall mention of felt backing for Dwarvenite anywhere.
I imagine a low weight felt could be found at any yardage store (probably even WalMart)?
I'd lean towards rubber cement>spray adhesive>white glue.
Your mileage may vary!

That is a negative on the felt lining on the bottom of the dwarvenite tiles.

These tiles already have a rubbery softness to them and they are made from a mold, whereas the master maze tiles are made then the bottoms are sanded down to a hard flatness before adding the soft lining.

The bonus to this is that the dwarvenite tiles should all have the same consistency as far as height, width, and length where as the master maze has slight inconsistencies (which adds its own level of uniqueness). The dwarvenite tiles should also be fine on all surfaces without worry of scratching or sliding.

Personally I like to lay down a layer of some type of black lining on the playing surface before using my tiles to darken any gaps that may arise as any overhead lighting can make these little areas stand out to an OCD eye.

I have also seen players here on the forums that will use other basing such as grass colored grid mats or textured mats, and I believe Biowizard makes these ridiculously amazing light boxes that can be used to create lava, slime, water effects as well. I still need to get myself a grass gridded mat.

The Game Tiles will not need any felt...they are almost rubber like...

The difference in thickness is not significant at all as you can see in the pictures of the Master Maze and Dwarvenite placed in a mixed pattern together.

And if it is an issue for you, I'm pretty sure your local craft store can order something very much like it in self-adhesive sheets.

I wouldnt say it's an Issue per ce, as much as I just REALLY enjoyed the quality of the origional DF tiles - especially the felt.
