Re:New resin sets 1 Year, 4 Months ago
I am a person brought into DF by the kickstarter.

I have bought the following from DF:

4 hs
4 doe
1 ice caverns
3 sets of accessories

I have traded for /bought second hand about 45 sets

I would buy more but the store is out of stock.

THAT is the largest problem at the moment.

Nothing to buy so the only source is trades or ebay.

I know its hard, but you could wait for the re-stock coming this fall :-)

45 sets from the DF store would make Jeff & Stefan very happy!

As someone with a pretty big collection and who loved the resin sets and didn't buy into the KS, not that its not a good product. Just I like my resin, as heavy and pricy as it was.

Can someone please tell me with some assurity, if the resins sets are still going to be manufactured or are they now for the chop, given the crazy success of the Kick Starter?

I hope either the CEO, or Stefan could confirm one way or the other?

Cheers

John

PS - Well done on the amazing kick starter. It certainly took off.

we are going to restock SOME Resin Sets as well as introduce a new Resin Set: the Catacombs 2 set probably in Late Febuary/March...

The price of Resin production has skyrocketed in the last few years so we cannot restock too many lines at once...perhaps we will need to hold off on the Cavern Set restock till a few months later, June, July.....by then we should have a really good collection in stock unless they sell out incredibly fast...

The Resin Sets will see a slight increase in cost, probably $10-$20....sorry, no way to avoid that, the Catacomb 2 Set will be broken up into logical compositions...it is an Awesome add on addition to the Catacomb line and works well with the other dungeon sets as well....

Thanks Stefan,
I can appreciate the realities of cost increases and having been a long term buyer, I am well prepared for the usual waiting. I was just worried the new sets would spell the demise of the old, and I love the hand painted resin sets.

Sadly its the cavernous lake sets I am after next. Which of course is typical. lol.

I will have to bide my time and save my pennies till they come in.

Cheers and thanks again for the swift reply, it always appreciated.

Price increases are sad, but totally understandable. Other than Catacombs 2, do you have any idea which sets will be restocked in February/March? Any of the limited edition sets?

While my budget isn't as large as some of the other people asking about restocking/new resin sets I thought I would add my voice as a new Kickstarter generated customer interested in Resin sets (new and restocks).

Currently I am looking forward with much excitement to 7-sets worth of Game Tiles plus a couple of add-ons. Since the Kickstarter I've also purchased a couple resin sets (from Dwarven Forge), but further purchases are on hold waiting for resin sets to be restocked.

Best estimate, if there was more stocked after the Kickstarter, I would have purchased 4-8 sets between the last Kickstarter and now.

This isn't a complaint: Dwarven Forge has been amazing through the Kickstarter and with my other recent purchases. I was shocked to find out they were such a small company. The work you guys put into creating Game Tiles so Dwarven Forge products can reach more customers is very much appreciated by this new customer.

Mostly I just want to let you know as a game tiles customer I'm interested in resin sets. It seems like there are quite a few of us (new customers curious about more resin). Obviously there is no easy answer to the costs of restocks. Has Dwarven Forge ever taken pre-orders? Is there a resin Kickstarter being considered? It might be the only way to get ahead of the new customer/restock curve.

some of the survey questions I would have liked to put a qualifier with.

like if some of the Cavern Set pieces aren't included in the Kickstarter then I would buy the resin if available. So I ended up putting "Not sure"

Oh well. would love to see the Realm of Ancients come back out. Being able to mosaic the floor is something I am so envious of in the "Cool Photos" section
