KICKSTARTER STRETCH GOAL REWARDS 1 Year, 4 Months ago
Let's give Stefan and Crew some great ideas for concept art of Stretch Goal Rewards we'd like to receive as part of this Phenomenal Kickstarter!

I would want a very "Special" entrance piece also available in unpainted and painted versions.

Keep the ideas coming, remember all Stefan needs to do is post concept artwork/renditions and post as rewards to keep people pledging. This may be better than getting more pieces of the same which only goes so far.

Some good basics are:

Diagonal corners.
Curved corners.
Secret door in wall piece. (that swivels.)
A 'sunken' down tile square. (steps leading down)
A closed' trap door tile square. (Amazing if this could 'flip open / close'!!)
A Floor grate tile square.
A stair case that leads up.
A new type of column. (set of 2 or 4)
A 'Prison door' / 'Cell door'.

I do not think we need go to the Corridor list just yet. Focussing on 'Room' is a good place to start.

I'd love to see pieces from the new or old treasure sets, to help furnish the Game Tiles.

I have a feeling making the molds and preparing them for mass production might cause an issue with making new pieces for stretch goals, so I propose giving away common pieces available in normal sets, or things like pillars and stairs that you can buy individually anyway. That would help increase sales, especially since those pieces are currently sold out but could likely get back in by the October delivery date.

or stretch goals could offer Dwarven Forge gift certificates, good for purchasing from the regular web-site?

I am hoping that future stretch goals will include pieces from the prototype set that is mentioned in some of the higher reward levels, as well as other different pieces made from this new material. I'm supportive of Dwarven Forge and of this Kickstarter, even if they don't offer a variety of pieces, but would be much more excited if they start offering other types of pieces as stretch goal rewards. If they have not yet designed other types of new pieces, I'd be totally fine getting them much later once they are designed and produced, even if long after the basic rewards ship out.

I think probably what I'd most like to see as stretch goal rewards are a small room piece that comes prebuilt as a whole small square room, in the spirit of the old Ogre's Den set, but smaller and plain, but easy to use to plop down as a whole small room to add to a dungeon.

One of the things they mentioned in the kickstarter was keeping it simple. I would be surprised if they added a ton of new pieces as stretch goals. I am not counting on it, but I will certainly be pleasantly surprised if they do.

My guess is they might add one or two new pieces, at most. Let's see if I am wrong. I think the point of these game tiles is to get a ton of them at a low price point, which is only possible if you keep the tooling costs down as far as possible by dividing the costs among a large volume order. Since every new piece incurs new tooling costs, I strongly suspect that we will either get no new pieces or a few at most. Either way, this is the best and cheapest way to get a full table worth of DF terrain, so how can we possibly be disappointed if they do not add many or even any new pieces? Will you be complaining if they simply keep adding additional freebies of the existing pieces? This is going to allow more and more people to have tons of DF to build their fantasy dungeons at a very low price point. How cool is that!

Addicted to DF - Proud owner of 147 DF sets and counting = 126 new non-bowtie sets, and 21 older bowtie sets! By some miracle, I have managed to avoid wife aggro so far...

I would not be disappointed if they keep it simple, but after a couple of more stretch goals, even just one or two different pieces would be a nice change up to keep it fresh. Especially since we are only just on the first day of the campaign. We'll need something to keep it interesting for another month. Even if they don't offer different pieces though, I'd still be excited to get these sets in the new material.

I know keeping it simple is nice, but here's my major concern:

There is currently no incentive for current backers to spend any more than they currently are. I for one have some more money I could spend, but I don't need anymore generic Game Tiles. Even worse, it's almost an incentive to spend LESS money, since the free pieces will start to make up a set or two (obviously I won't do that, I'm just trying to illustrate a point)

I think if they add a few add-ons for current backers to spend money on it will really help skyrocket this to Reaper KS levels. Otherwise, I fear the pledges may top out around 250k.

I'm also a strong believer in the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) theory but I fear exactly what Maimonides has eluded to, an end game exodus. I believe having "specially" designed pieces other than room tiles will make for a more successful Kickstarter. Let's not forget Reaper Bones model which caught everyone's attention and was a huge success. I want the same success, if not more, for DF because I know the result will benefit new and old enthusiasts, alike.

I agree 100% with Zoroaster's comments and would certainly expect delivery of "special" pieces long after the Game Tiles arrived; giving DF enough time to plan production runs along with other needed sets.

I don't know if DF expected such an overwhelming response on the first day but they should consider all options to keep the momentum going in the right direction.

Again, having "special" pieces encourages those that have already pledged to increase their pledges and to get those still sitting on the fence to jump right in at potentially higher levels! There's still a lot of time left, 35-days, to make this happen so put the thinking caps on and let's get Kraken!

I agree dndgamer. Don't get me wrong, I love free stuff. But I'd like to a) continue to support DF, even if it means paying more, and b) I'd like to see this blow the Reaper Bones KS out of the water. I think the bigger this gets, the better it is for everyone, as DF will be able to do bigger and better things with both the Master Maze and Game Tiles lines.

I am just worried of it tapering off. Obviously there's great incentive for new backers, but not much for current ones.

And I know I speak for many people when I say that we'll gladly wait and get a later expected delivery date for add-ons and new, exciting pieces. Even if the normal Game Tiles arrive in October but newer pieces don't reach us until December/January, that's fine by me.

I second that motion. Many Kickstarters don't get fully fulfilled for well over a year anyhow. If nothing else, the existing customer base has proven to be a very patient lot.

I would:
- not mind paying shipping for addons.
- not mind waiting longer than October for addons.
- understand if addons and stretch goals were in the regular, non-Dwarvenite, material.
- be totally ok with existing DF pieces being offered.
- probably end up doubling my total pledge if the right kind of stuff was available.

Kickstarter exclusive pieces, or perhaps exclusive color schemes (RotA floor mosaic) for existing pieces. If you'd like to make some of the newer addicts squeal with glee, reprint some of the promo items from sets long past. (The door boat from Rivers, mosaic RotA room, RotA secret door, RotA entrance, etc.) I know that last one is a long shot... but we already reached long shot territory before dawn broke on the second day.

We are positively begging you. Please, give the newbies and veterans reasons to give you more money.

How about a dungeon entrance add on? I wouldn't even mind if all we saw was concept art on some of these add-ons since DF is known to deliver great products. (something like the ROTA entrance)
