Wicked Editions #3 1 Year, 9 Months ago
Apologies in advance if someone already brought this up (couldn't find it on any threads), but I was wondering if the Wicked # sets will be coming back in stock at any time in the future. Only recently found DF, and as much as I love the quality of the sets, it's becoming frustrating as so many are currently out of print. Any and all info would be much appreciated - thank you and keep up the great work!

Hi gkrstic,

Welcome to Dwarven Forge! This a very common questions for new DF customers. DF is a very small company and they pay bulk prices for having sets being cast & painted in China. To save on shipping and manufacturing costs, they usually make about 2 orders per year. Let's say they buy 500 Sets for $100 each, that's $50 000 of immobilized capital in a warehouse somewhere. This is probably why DF waits for Sets to run out of stock before ordering some more, in huge quantities. Since the last order came in 2-3 days ago, you can probably expect your Wicked addition #3 to be in stock next July. You can register to be notified by email once it becomes in stock too! That's what I do anyway even if I read this forum very often; there so much good stuff here! In the meantime, you can save your money to be sure to be able to buy more from them at that time, so that you yourself buy in bulk and save money! ... especially if you do not live in the US.

What biowizard said. Things can move a little slow due to DF's small size as a company, but its always worth the wait...and almost never worth the expense of inflated prices on ebay (unless its an out of print item, of which I don't believe there are many).

And, welcome to The Addiction!

Wellcome to the addiction. I think Biowizard has summarized it very well. Keeping everything on stock is difficult as you have to plan way ahead and it doesn't always work out as planned.

Sharing with Europe enabled a few more sets to be restocked a year ago by sharing - but it also meant that they might have run out faster.

In regard to the Wicked Addition Sets. They are among the most common ones and will always be high on the restock list.

Sorry I can't give you more help. Later this year sounds like a good guess - but that always depends on other factors as well - like competition with new sets. But you can be sure they will be back - eventually.

Hello biowizard, granpappy and Thod -thank you for your quick and kind responses! I'm happy to know that there is still hope. And yes, it is an addiction, isn't it? My pals warned me, but I had no idea...

I got burned by a local when I tried to pick up some of the DOE/ROA sets, and the ebay prices have just been outrageous for some of the OOP sets, including the WE#3 - so it's great news to hear that they will be eventually re-released. I've mostly had luck picking up old sets via craigslist and borrowing from pals.

Amazing how the more you buy, the more you realize you need, huh?

Thank you again - really appreciate the reply and am excited to meet fellow DF-nerds!
