Here's the contents list for the Classic Dungeon Wicked Additions #2 set:

(1) mermaid fountain
(2) spiral stairs
(4) pedestals
(1) dead end short passage
(1) swiveling secret door
(2) stairs down
(4) 6" long wall pieces
(2) 6"x6" floor tiles

As you can see, there is both a pair of "spiral stairs" and a pair of "stairs down" listed.

However, if you look at the pictures for the set, I only see one pair of staircases shown.

Is there another pair of staircases included in the set that aren't pictured? Or are the "spiral stairs" and the "stairs down" the same thing?

If they're different, can someone direct me to picture of them?

Thanks!

Okay, I think I answered my own question.

It looks like the "stairs down" are the 2X2 floor pieces with the indentation.

I thought that these were the same as the 2X2 floor pit piece that comes with the Room Set, but a closer inspection reveals that they are a bit different (the floor pit has a smooth surface to the indentation while the stairs down has a "stepped" effect on the indentation.

You are correct sir!

Personally, I prefer the stairs from WA set 1 & 3 to set 2....but thats just me ;-)

The sprial stairs from WE2 is tricky to use. I wish they new version of it where the stairs started from the opposite side so I could make my setups look more symetrical....

[pedantic lecture] According to many accounts, spiral stairs always "thread" to allow defenders, who were assumed to be higher on the stairs facing down, to swing their weapons freely and to hinder attackers, who were assumed to be lower on the stairs facing up, from swinging their weapons freely. It was also assumed that everyone would be right-handed. [/pedantic lecture]

However, spiral stairs would be threaded the other way for:
- decorative purposes
- fantasy races that are predominantly left-handed
- dwarves, whose indoor defensive tactics are inverted

I'd love to see:
- a curved stair that would fit in a curved passage, one going each way
- a 2"x4" floor piece featuring stairs going down, similar to the 2"x2" piece but with wider stairs, longer
