Advanced Builder 3 Preview? 3 Years, 8 Months ago
Hi Jeff and Stefan,

I saw this post from Mike at SlyFlourish.com http://yfrog.com/8bdrckj.

He says the pic is a preview of Advanced Builder 3 and that you guys are working on an Elf Woodland Set!

Are these rumors true or is someone pulling my leg?

WOW - is that a Gen Con picture? I see new double doors and an interesting looking pillar in that pic....

WOW! I'm super excited about BOTH of the sets. Looks like a new stairwell too! More info please. :)

I can't imagine what would be in the woodland set, but I'm ready to hear/see!

I notice the stairs don't have a well-formed 1" grid pattern. Most people, including me, prefer everything to stick to a 1" grid pattern. Without it it makes moving minis a bit difficult.

Have to agree here - combat can and does happen on the stairs, and having stairs that minis can actually stand on would be a huge bonus!

Nice....

It was just a few days ago that I thought about pillars for the dungeons as a nice addition :)

The stairs are fine for me,as I like the parts to look at least a little realistic and do not mind placing a mini at the top or bottm and stating that it is "on" the stairs. Stairs with 1" deep steps mostly do not look like they would have been build that way, they are "out of scale". Sorry for my bad English, I hope you know what I am intending to say.

I like the idea of an elven forest, wonder how that would work? - Perhaps have trees, giant mushrooms, etc. that would snap fit onto the base? Anyway, let's hope it's more than rumour...

Stairs - just what several of us have been asking for - fantastic!
The pillars will look great too and help break up larger dungeon rooms - I hope these are available separately as well as in a set?
Elven Forest - The Great Outdoors! A fantastic step forward if it is true - I hope this presages a city scape or village scape set too.

All exciting stuff!

I doubt this is really the way they wanted to release this info.
With that being said, I really love the stairs and the double doors.
The larger pillars are a great but the one shown isnt quite what I
was hoping for. I will definately buy a few of the sets.

I'm having a hard time picturing how they could do the outdoor set
but I would probably buy that too.

really, really hope that the woodland set was a joke.

Cause there are not as many people interested in this one, and
it would become a new sci-fi i think (dusts in on shelves).

The double door looks very good, i hoped for a wider door (4 spaces)
but that one is really a good one.

Love the stairs, too. You can use them as entrance piece and if you want
stairs to put minies on we already have the ones from wicket additions I.

The pillar is not that great alone, but maybe there is similar styled stuff
in the new set that go with it for a great looking setup.

All in all the three pieces are very good looking and useful additions for the basic line.

Whether this is how they intended the news to come out or not, the news is out.

And I am very happy.

The stairs-at-the-end-of-a-hallway piece is perfect. A landing would detract from the aesthetic -- four 1" steps would look terrible.

The double doors are great. The arch kind of fades away as it rises above the top of the wall, which evokes the complete stonework while allowing larger minis to be put in the actual doorway. (Stefan actually asked the forum-goers about that a year an a half ago.)

I like the fluted pillar. Individually it seems a bit out of place, but four or more should be grand. I also hope we will be able to buy 2, 4, or 8 together as "individual" pieces, as this just begs to be cut into halves and quarters (vertically) to go against walls and corners.
