I know I'm preaching to the choire here but I just can't say enough about how exceptional the quality and detail of Dwarven Forge sets are. EVER!!!! :D

I just received some sets (MBS, Lake, Chasm, Fantasy Floor, and others) and along with my order of the Fantasy Floor set I found a small bag of jewels containing game size rubies, emeralds, and diamonds! What a fantastic touch! Although, I must admit that at first I was puzzled because I did not know where to put them -- well, needless to say there isn't an EXACT place for them but they could be strewn about anywhere, on ANY of the sets or even inside the treasure chest!

Is there something wrong with a fully grown man playing with fantasy tile pieces and miniatures????!!!!!

When does the addiction end?????

IIRC those go into holes in the pentagram piece -- some people have suggested thinking of them as various magical triggers for various magical effects....

Well, I think we'll all have to agree with your post dndgamer! And, as you signature proudly displays, you certainly have accumulated a nice collection in short amount of time. Hope you score a DoE R&P set soon and that the Rivers & Walls set comes back in stock soon so you can get it - one of my favorites!

ps - yes, L is definitely correct. Those little gems go into the depression in the points of the Pentagram.

Duh!!! I feel so smart!! I had a feeling they went somewhere within the set! :D

I've been looking for a DOE R&P set for a couple of months now but no luck...they're just so expensive on eBay that I'd rather buy other sets instead. I'm still hopeful, though and will keep an eye out on eBay.

I can't wait until the Lake sets are back in stock either. I'm thinking of getting 2 Lake sets and 1 River and Walls set...or, should I get more of each? Maybe they'll offer a special piece???!!! :D Can't wait!

The River & Walls set is really extra special nice because of the free standing Cavernous Walls that are included (both curved and straight) that can be used in ANY of the cavernous sets!

Hmmm, I'm now thinking 2 or 3 sets of each (Cavernous Lake and Cavernous River & Walls) would be good...or is that overkill??? I also just received 1 Lake Expansion but I think 1 is good enough...any comments on that?

If you are undecided, I would suggest going with the lower considered quantity (2/) of the (C, CR&W) sets to start with -especially if there is no promotion for a bulk purchase. That way if you still need the extra (third) set(s) you can always order it shortly thereafter. Although I might suggest the added variety of a chasm set instead.

Also keep in mind that all of these sets (including the lake and R&W sets) work together within the cavern line. As a result you may find that you don't need quite so many of any one set as you may have originally thought, in order to make some very large setups.

You need to update your sig then!

IMHO I'd get another regular Cavern before another Chasm simply for the extra wall pieces & floor tiles - when I make large cavern set-ups, those are always the peices I use most of.

I have 3 lake sets, 2 expansion and 4 river sets. I also have 20 ro 30 extra water pieces and 10 extra shore pieces. I did this to be able to setup a large cavern lake with an island on it on a 4x6 foot board.

Thanks Harneloot, I updated my sig.

I'm waiting for the Lake and River sets to be in stock to get 2 of each -- I missed out the first time they were released. Hmmm, I just realized that I don't have much more closet space for my storage bins -- I currently have 5 Sterelite 7-drawer storage bins (which work great with DF sets) and each one is full...I think I need to get a bigger place!!! :D

Well, I can always play PowerBall and try to win $54Million Dollars!!!! I wonder what I would BUY FIRST... <can anyone say...Dwarven Forge sets???> ;)

I definitely recommend 2 River and Wall sets, these are awesome to have. And yes storage is a challenge. I recently sold off a huge collection for lack of room. Totally regret letting go my Carvenous Passages sets though... gonna have to sneak them back into the house somehow. :)
