I am thinking of ordering some ROTA now, but the number and timing would both depend on the availability of the painted floor intersection and medallion door.

At this point, I am expecting that they are all gone, but it would be nice (obviously) to discover otherwise.
Thanks.

Sorry...but they were only available during the pre-order period.

I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend considering making some kind of intricately-painted ROTA pieces available -- maybe a small set of four painted intersections for $100 or something like that. Only die-hards would want it, but I'm convinced it would sell. It just seems such a shame that the promo intersection piece is a one-time only deal. I have mine, sure, but I might want another in a few years, you know? Plus, IMHO this is one of the greatest single DF pieces ever - having it be a one-time only issue is a real shame.

I'd like to see those MBS shutters (or even a different version of something). For the intersection pieces, I'd personally be happy with a painting color guide, but for those with less free time and patience I think having those available might be a good revenue generator at some point in the future. In fact, I could see some people buy fully painted sets. Painting up floor mosaics might even be a good temp income for anyone recently laid off... This set is begging to be customized in minute detail!

I completely agree that it is a shame that the Make-Shift Raft, the Blowgun Lizardmen, the MBS Shutters and the two RotA pieces are forever gone. We even have some of the latter left-over! However, we said that they were only available during the pre-order period so our hands are tied. However, the good news is that due to good feedback from y'all, we are going to be offering the NEXT limited-edition piece for sale about six months AFTER the RotA 2 Set comes out. That Ruined Entrance piece is just too sweet!

How about offering up a different color scheme of the intersection for sale? That would distinguish it from the limited pre-order version. I would love to order some painted intersections. I didn't preorder any ROTA and would be happy with just some intersections to use with my other DF sets. The other pre-order specials are really neat "extras" but not really building basics -- the intersections I think are really useful for building a set-up. My guess is that some of the pre-order crowd might pick up additional intersections if they had a different but equally impressive color scheme.

If I remember correctly, one of the reasons that the "four-way intersection WITH impressive color scheme" became the "four-way intersection" is that the impreessive color scheme is too expensive to paint. DF probably went to a bit of trouble and expense (read "loss of profit") to make the promotional offer available (that's why it was linked to a large purchase).

If they have extras, I think they should take them to GenCon and make the promotional offer for purchases/orders of X RotA sets made on the spot, until they run out. Or they could use them as contest prizes.

The only way to make the "four-way intersection with impressive color scheme" financially viable to sell it at a price commensurate with production costs. It's not gonna be cheap.

So how much would you be willing to pay per piece for "four-way intersections with impressive color schemes"?

How about this idea.... Why don't we get Stefan to sign and number them with paint, auction off on ebay the left overs and send the money to the imeadiate family of Jeff's nephew. Just a thought. What do others think.
