All fellow DF customers

The last few weeks have been both an exiting time as well as sometimes a frustrating time. Exiting for customers to see the River Set being released and having everyone drool over L's great pictures in the Forum. Frustrating for the many customers who had to wait for so long and partly are still waiting for their ordered sets. And the worst was - there just wasn't anything you could do apart of visiting this formum for snippets of the latest update and News.

Off course this was also an exiting time for Lori and Jeff with the arrival of their daughter Avery. At the same time it must have been extremely frustrating for them - especially Lori - that Jeff had to spend so much time sorting the mess out instead of enjoying his new family.

While cycling in to work and pondering all the money spend - especially the amount NOT going to DF but to others like USPS, the taxman etc. and pondering if or if not I will have to pay tax twice now with two tracking numbers I felt there are other issues important in live as also pointed out by others.

And while I promise to carry on demanding improvements to customer support when I feel it isn’I up to scratch - especially for oversea customers - I felt there were two innocent people sucked into this - Lori and Avery.
So I decided - I spend just the little bit more as I spend anyhow - and send some flowers to Lori to tell her we appreciate that she had to suffer due to us.

Well - my cycle route is approx. 7 miles total - so by the time I arrived I was pondering if others would like contribute for some flowers for Lori as well.

How does it work? The Rules !!

To participate, please send your contribution via PayPal to df_baby@loesel.freeserve.co.uk (US dollars, Euro, British Pound – all welcome – okay – please no Canadian or Australian dollars).

No contribution too small (well - it has to be bigger as PayPal handling charges).

I will wait for one week - to be precise until Midnight 23 July US time.

I will spend all money reaching the PayPal account (the prefix is just to ensure it’s kept apart from my own account).

If nothing reaches me – fine - this will still mean a small bouquet of flowers in a weeks time.

If more reaches me the bouquet will grow.

Any surplus (after all I'm male and think only a certain amount of money is worthwhile spending on flowers) will be going to some baby related toys/equipment/pampering for Lori. My wife is an expert baby shower organizer and with her best friend visiting they will be able to spend this better as I ever will be able to do.

There will be a card together with the flowers indicating this is from the DF customers.

This is intended for Lori and the baby only. Jeff will only benefit indirectly through a happier wife which will be priceless in itself. Well – after all I feel Jeff is more the 'business site' of the family.

I will post pictures of the flowers or anything else bought in the picture area.

I will keep you updated here about progress.

Well - anything I haven't thought of later.

As I mentioned at an earlier post – I can see DF as both – a business as well as family of gamers and friends. This initiative is for the friends and family part of DF.

And last – I hope I don’t insult anyone by doing this – and apologies in case I do. Customs can be different in other countries – as well as how people think about ‘invasion of privacy’. But I checked with my wife and got a hug from her – telling me there was still something in me of the old Schuchtern (my old fantasy alter ego which she met and fell in love with). This was decicive for me to go ahead – no matter what reservations I had and still have if doing this in such an open manner will not offend at least some of you.

Hope to hear from you

What is the best currency? Obviously AUS$ would be easiest for me, but I have paid for ebay items in all the others in the past so should be able to work out how to do one of them.

What are the handling charges to recieve money? I have only ever paid to it.

Handling charges are approx. 20 pence / 30 cent flat fee plus 5% of the total sum. I can check exact values. I use my account to 90% for payments as well - therefore all the three mentioned currencies will be used up without further loss of currency sooner or later. In this case I can do the currency transfer personally without any loss.

If in doubt - use US dollar as any flowers will be paid that way.

All

The first donation has arrived - and the bouquet is growing. The new address for the account has also just been verified by myself.

Thanks
