Hi DF -

Just checking-in for a status report. I'm sure I'm not the only one looking for a new E.T.A. on the shipment.

Waiting with baited breath for the goodies and, well, June 1 and June 10th have passed ...

Thanks -
- Mike

Well Mike, I hope that you catch something wonderful on your "baited" breath. We're with you looking forward to shipping expectations.

I asked Jeff in a different sub-forum here the other day if we were 'feet wet' yet (on the boat), or perhaps feet dry (on the shore here) and he didn't want to answer until he had some hard information.
So, maybe China hasn't shipped them yet, or maybe he hasn't been able to get an answer from the factory.

HEY JEFF!!

Feet Wet Yet?

See ya!

Oh no! Myrthe just hit on one of my pet peeves. It's actually "bated" breath, as in "to hold one's" breath. I really hate to sound like one of those weasely little trogs that hang out in forums and do nothing but bust on people's spelling and such, and truly, I mean no offense in pointing it out. It's just one of those things that gets stuck in my craw, so I thought I'd mention it.

But, yes, please add my voice to the requests for an update. I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on those sets!

Apparently, I was too subtle in my reference. But, allowing YC to release his understated wrath upon the innocent...

Okay, okay ... I stand corrected. I didn't mean to peeve your pet, YC :) While I don't have worm-breath, I always thought the term referred to "baiting" as in "attempting to gain a desired response". "Bated" is another version of "abated" but, since I haven't stopped breathing, didn't think that's what I meant :) Thanks for the constructive criticism / correction ... and no offense taken what-so-ever.

At any rate, it seems that we all know what I meant and hope to hear from DF sooner rather than later, right?

DF ? ....

Okay...I just got off the phone with our overseas broker -- and I have an update!

The stuff is here in the USA -- and it is sitting on a railcar awaiting its chance to head East. It has apparantly been sitting for some time in this railroad yard waiting for a full train load of cars to be accumulated. It looks like we hit it just at the wrong time -- and missed getting on another train by one day.

So...the best info I have now is that the container will arrive at our warehouse around Monday, June 19th -- where it will be unpacked and then divided up to be shipped out. The bad news is that Origins Game Convention is happening at the end of June, so our fulfillment center will be super-busy getting a bunch of clients' stuff shipped for that show. So, not only is the container late, but it looks like the orders will be sent out a little slower than we would like. I will keep you updated as I get more info. I know its like Christmas morning for some of you as you wait on your order -- and I'll let you know when I know something.

I really appreciate everyone pre-ordering like they did -- and I am sorry that my first guess of an ETA was off. We hit it perfect with the Den of Evil, but missed it here.

NOTE: The Aug. 1st ship date for the Cavernous Lake Set is still looking good. After delaying the June shipment for a few weeks, the factory has promised us a Aug. 1st receive date -- in as much as they can control. There is always fun in customers, of course.

That particular pet is easily peeved. I know it's horribly rude of me to point it out, so please forgive me. I'll do my best to reign in such behavior in the future. ;)

Come to think of it, when gamers are involved, perhaps "baited" is the more correct spelling, anyway. :)

And thanks for the update, Jeff! I'm eagerly awaiting my sets along with everyone else, and can't wait to see the rivers in person.

Thanks for the response, Jeff !! While it's not the news I was hoping for (you know, like "it's en route to your door as I type") it's better than it still being in transit on a ship. It's a good thing I wasn't holding my breath after all :)

YC, no problem and, again, no offense taken :) I'd much rather be corrected by those I "know" (translated: "share a forum, a hobby and a DF addiction with") and share a chuckle over it, rather than continue to make the same mistake over and over again.

With a week to get from California to the warehouse I kind of find it ironic that it's taking longer for my order to go backwards (from my perspective) across the USA than it will then to take to get from the Warehouse to me here in Australia :)

It would be nice, cheaper and quicker if it could come direct from China to me here in Aus. But I guess with economies of scale and population of Australia that is never going to happen.
