2007 Releases 8 Years, 2 Months ago
I know it's too early to start asking specifics, but I was just wondering, in a general sense, what the plan was for new releases after this year. Is it safe to assume at least one release from each of DF's product lines? (Fantasy, Cavern, DoE, Mystery.) Are there plans for more accessory sets? Will there be more new product lines or will the focus remain on lines that are already established?

Again, I know it's early, but any info you'd be willing to part with would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

It is really hard to say at this point. Much depends on how sales go this summer. If sales are strong, then we can continue to produce 4-5 sets a year, but we may have to "take a breather" in early 2007 to sell down some stocks before we can order more new sets.

We will post more info around Sept. 1st.

and give us a chance to earn some money to actually buy 4 sets...

Jeff;

Much as I love getting new toys, I gotta go with Genghis Ska on this one.
My bank account ain't what it used to be, and I've already GOT one Home Equity loan out! I can't get a second one for another 3 years.
Make ya a deal: YOU catch YOUR breath, and I'LL catch MINE!

Okay?

See ya in Indy!

Thanks for the reply, Jeff!

As for taking a breather (which will be much needed for my bank account as well), as long as the sets aren't limited edition, I think I could afford 4-5 sets a year (I'll just by fewer sets at a time.) We've gone from famine to feast in the past year, and right now, I feel a bit like the gamer equivalent of a foie gras duck.

I hear that! I remember back when it was like two years between the Cavern Set and the Traps sets. It was a tough time for this DF fanatic.

We wanted this 10th anniversary year to be something special -- for ourselves and for our collectors -- and I think we have done well thanks to everyone's great support in this. Perhaps 2006 will be looked at one day as special year -- with the release of Stefan's two Cavernous sets and the Mystery Set in August. This year should be a lot of fun.

Hi Jeff !!

"One Day" is already here ... I'm sure I'm not the only DF Fanatic around here that thinks 2006 has been (will be) a special year !!

What a great 10th Anniversary "celebration" !! It's your anniversary but we get the "gifts" :)

Kudos to all of you over there !!

A breather for both sides would be good for both.
The sheer money some are wielding around here can make some folks dizzy!

Still looking for the release of a Science Fiction Master Maze furnishing set (Gamma?).
Hope that it comes out in 2007 along with a "Delta" which will hopefully be a really cool advanced builder style set.
Science Fiction Master Maze can really use the odd sort pieces that an advancd builder set will generate.

This has indeed already been a very special year for Dwarven Forge! I do have to agree though, that if DF had this many releases every year, I would not be able to keep up, as much as I would want to. Already this year I've bought several regular Fantasy sets on ebay before they were restocked here on the site, then bought three Den of Evil sets, then three Rivers and Walls sets, and today, three Lakes sets. And I'm still hoping to buy at least one or two DOE Wicked Additions and some of the mystery set (how much will depend on what it turns out to be). Combined with spending on D&D miniatures (War Drums, War of the Dragon Queen, and later Blood War), I've spent more money than any other year on miniatures and related stuff. But I figured a year like this one doesn't happen very often, and I don't want to miss out and spend the next decade trying to hunt down what I want on ebay.

I almost forgot, this year I also felt obligated to buy Wizards of the Coast's Gargantuan Black Dragon and Collossal Red Dragon, and some of the McFarlane dragons. Better not get hit by a hurricane this year, or I'll have to sell my miniatures to have money to repair my house!

Sounds like you and I are in the exact same boat, Zoroaster! At least it's a boat full of minis!
