Now that we have seen the river sets. I am starting to wonder what is going to be in the lake set?
As well as promoting fun speculation, it may be a good thread for DF to check out its customer's ideas for future sets?

Bigger island features?
Whirlpools?
"Whole" water sections?
"Beach" shore sections (deeper than the current river set ones)?
Rocks/columns rising out of the water?
Surfaced monster parts (tentacles, fins etc)?
Waterfalls?
More boat/rafts/canoes?
'Sargasso-Sea' type kelp beds poking out of the water surface?

Well, before all decoration, I would like to be sure that i would have the floor / water pieces enough to have several lake configurations:

If it would have some extra or more remobable walls it would be great, but I would sacrifice them all by this pieces:

4 "coast" lake pieces
4 "corner" lake pieces
1 central lake piece (all water)
1 delta piece

With this you could make a great circular lake even with a delta, even great "L" lake, (try to figure out), or great wide river + lesser circular lake, etc...

I'm hoping for more "all water" pieces. At least three. In fact, if you take the composition of the existing Cavern set, substituting water for floor and shore for wall, you'd pretty much have the set where I hope it to be. If you replace the complex cavern pieces with corners that would be 1/4 shore and 3/4 water, and make the passage connectors the deltas, it would make for a lot of options with just one set. The dead end passages would likely be replaced with special pieces, like a small island surrounded by water, or maybe a water piece with stalagmites sticking out of it, or something even cooler that Stefan's probably already thought of.

In any event, this is going to be a great set!

mmm... you are probably right... silly me who did not think of it!!! oh yes! with "all water" pieces you need no shore right? and with "corner lake" but made to be put at the side of an "all water"... mmm.. I think I know what do you mean.. oh yeah! that gives much more posibilities!!! then perhaps I would include two deltas...

Okay; I"ll bite. What, to you, is a "delta?" It's a faucet brand, an airline, and a Greek letter, right? What's in in the context of a lake?

Not trying to be a wisecrack. I'm just tired and uninformed as to what a delta is.

62 sets and counting. In addition, a boatload of individual pieces or sets of pieces.

Like a river delta. It's probably a misnomer to use it in this way, since deltas are made of silt that's carried to the mouth of a river. In this case, a "delta" piece is just a way of connecting the lake to the river. At least, that's how I'm using the term. Arsthein, you may have a different idea in mind.

I'm hoping for at least two different options for connecting rivers to lakes in each set.

I have a comment on the Lake on the Cavernous Rivers thread...The composition of the Lake Set has already been sent to the factory. Some of these great suggestions will have to wait for a future add on water set...However, Yes, there IS a whole water piece (I have found that one doesn't need a lot of those unless one has many Cavern Sets...because you would also need lot's of space (cavern pieces)to hold what would have to be a giant lake...oh yes, and there are actually 3 "deltas" to connect the rivers to the lakes...that's all I can leak out for now...

Stefan.

Heh heh heh...

Don't feel bad, Stefan -- we were more speculating about possibilities than issuing requests...

So we know a LITTLE now -- three deltas, one all-water piece.

I'm guessing at least two or three pieces are banks -- that might be the sum total of the set...

Hmmmmm....

Re: All water pieces.

If there is enough call for it in the future, is there any possibility that this one piece (all-water) may be sold individually, (or at least as a once-only occasion to see how they sell)? -On a related note I've noticed that the cavern floor and 6X6 room floor pieces have been selling well.

This would allow anyone who wants to create:
1) Open-ended / larger lakes with enough water surface area to place a docked ship or two, or
2) a thin ribbon-lake (wide river)
...the ability to assemble them.

I understand that everyone would not have the need or space required for so many -and that it makes perfect sense not to bundle too many extra pieces into a set.
However, if this one piece was offerred as an individual piece as well it would also provide for those who would find them most useful in making larger water/lake setups.

Of course this is mere speculation at this point. It would be nice to know that this may be possible should the need be there.

Just a thought.

Woo-hooow it must be miiine!!! sounds good to me... and very happy to hear the pieces are "done"...

By the way, yes! with "delta" I was trying to refer to pieces connecting river to lake... not trying to be too much precise sorry... I remind you I'm not an expert in english language!! ;-) I need to use some "tricks" sometimes... teehee...
