Howdy all. I'm running a home-made 1st Edition AD&D module at the RECON convention in St. Petersburg, FL next weekend (04/15), providing I can get players. The map(s) were all realized using Dwarven Forge first, then the various room descriptions were created around them.

So if you're a 1e fan, or if you just wanna see a whole shmeer of DF pieces and some well-painted minis (courtesy of my wife), come on down!

The con's site is www.hgms-south.com .

Thanks.

Hi Gez from Tronen Games here. :D I'm a big fan of Dwarven Forge :D and have designed all of my currently available scenarios on dwarven forge product. They only show the first two of the 4 scenarios available. I developed and greatly improved the dungeon maps for the later modules, so they are even easier to follow and build using the dwarven forge products. Check out my site www.tronengames.com or www.nobleknight.com.

This is the improved map for our first scenario the Tomb Of Tobins Hills. This was created using the Cavern set, a number of the Room & passage sets and the narrow passage set.

Thanks Gez! The older one (ahem) was not as nice. We have all your stuff and have used it but, do not use the setting.

Sombody (Hint Hint) :D should put out a book with maps that are DF "compatable". I really like mapping out my stuff but I would buy it just for the easy factor.

Got anymore you can show?

Thor is my real name so when I game I name my PCs things like "Norm", "Phil" and "Edward".

I have a lot of source books. What the active on-the-go DM of today needs is lottsa quick fun senarios that can be pulled out and run with a minimum of fuss. I have not checked out your "gods" book. Sounds promising.

Grin - I too was a 1st level writer - (Still em'!) 8) I did a scenario and some work for the "Bureau 13" game while back. Has anybody ever played this game?!!!!!!

I'll go check your site. Always looking for new stuff.

Thor is your real name cool!!! You're not the same Thor I bought a D&D t-shirt off a few weeks back are you? Well any way I do try to write my adventures in such a way that they are easy to play  (hopefully). I’ve bought way to many that were far to complex to run. Chapter 4 ‘The Lair Of The Remus Bull’ is out very soon and was great fun developing. I really like the Advanced Builders set, so that was used extensively in the making of that adventure. What I’m intending to do with the next adventure Arrowford Tales is to do a number of ‘small adventures’ around the same location and doing each one using alternate sets, so you don’t have to take all your sets with you. I’m also aware that not everyone has huge tables to play on so this scenario is dedicated to them… :D

Set specific Senario - Great Idea! I really like the idea of several adventures all based around one location. A sharp DM can blend and mix these all at once giving the PC lottsa stuff they want to do. Plus the DM only has to study up on the single location. I assume this will be a small town? Will the plots overlap?

Have you used DF stuff to make a small town? It works great! No windows though! City blocks work real well because they can use common walls.

My best set-up (That I liked) was a drow town built inside the cavern pieces. (Keep all your buildings 4x4 or 8 or 12 etc) I had like 12 buildings inside 2 cavernsets. Looked and played great

Arrowford as a town was too big to build using the pieces, though I really like your idea (that's one to use in a future adventure) I have used the pieces to build a small Keep, see attached, map, and started off using DF as floor plans for a Tavern plan in Arrowford but scrapped that idea.(Though I still used DF when I ran the adventure). The adventures can be played in any order so the players can pick and choose what they feel like doing and their actions can influence what happens in the next adventure and how the locals react to the adventurers. When I ran it they made the mistake of entering a locals only tavern and found the atmosphere a little frosty, to say the least, so they left and stayed at the other tavern but after they helped a local who was loosing sheep to some mysterious predator and were paid in sheep they suddenly found they were most welcome in the inn and they got paid well over the odds for their sheep when the next market took place.

Arrowford only needed to be mapped & designed using DF. Only small parts relevent to the current story would ever be actualy set up. The entire town would never be set-up. (Maybe some nut..... :D )

Arrowford can be any size. Same as my dungeons, I have a good bit of Undermountain (Dungean under the city of waterdeep in Forg. relms.) mapped out using DF stuff. I'll never want to put it all up at one time.

As more DF sets came out you really only became limited by the number of corner (or Curved) pieces you had. Always 4 corners to a building. (athough I cheat and use the curving stair case to make corners)

I can set-up about 7-9 seperate buildings in which some have multiple "Shops" (Using Common walls). This gets you 15-25 individual "Shops". A nice little town........

Gottcha!!! I know what you mean now. Yep have used the pieces like that when I was running a game for my son when he encountered some thugs in an alley way. I made a small section of the city he was in.
When DMing do you build the dungeon and have you players adventure through it or do you build as you go along?
